My family & I LOVE pulled pork. In the spice aisle of the supermarket, look for a McCormick seasoning packet for it. Follow the directions on the back and enjoy. It's simple, inexpensive and SO yummy!

seriously the best chicken crockpot recipe i've ever had, and i've had a lot of them!

i also like the Campbell's Golden Chicken and Noodles: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/campbells-golden-chicken-wit...

like someone already mentioned, the kielbasa/hot dogs/pork chops and sauerkraut are a super easy and super tasty option that is great when you are in a rush. we usually dump a bottle of darker beer in, it kicks the flavor up a bit. i also will use an envelope of onion soup mix with some water over top of a roast with carrots, onions, celery, and maybe potatoes, if i don't want to bother with mashed potatoes.

you could also make chilli in the crockpot, it makes it a bit thicker than on the stove top.

have fun cooking!

I like to put a few pork chops in and cover with a big can of mushroom soup. Let it cook on low several hours. Make rice or whatever later and invite me over for dinner.

I just got this book a couple of weeks ago and LOVE it!! I actually looked at every recipe and flagged all of the ones I was interested in trying. I used 81 post-it flags! Last weekend I made Maple Bourbon Pork Chops in one crock pot and made polenta in another. I'm not much of a polenta person, but my husband loved it. The pork chops were really good- I liked them better with egg noodles. Rice would have been good with it too. She has some really great advice in there too.

I bought a new, larger crockpot last weekend when I was out shopping. When I came home I looked at the reviews on Amazon, and they were pretty bad, so I returned it- not sure what to get now. Every one I look at has had some sort of problem- they either get too hot (even on low- and a few people have had to replace their countertop because the crockpot got so hot it damaged it), the ceramic pot cracks, the programmable one just shuts itself off in the middle of cooking and people come home to a ruined dinner, the non-stick lining starts peeling off... *sigh* so you might want to look up the one you have before you use it.
Good Luck!
btw- if you wind up loving the one you have, let us know =o)

Congrats on the new crock pot purchase...you are going to LOVE it. Something SUPER easy that I can think of off the top of my head... (will have to post more later). Take a package of Johnsonville Sausages (mild or Hot, we like Hot)... lightly brown them in a pan on all sides. Place sausage in crock pot, add 1-2 jars of Marinara Sauce (we like Emiril's)...add sliced up red peppers (can also add onion or whatever you like). Put on low for 6-8hrs. Eat either over pasta, served with salad and garlic bread or in sausage rolls (french rolls) add sides like potato salad or other easy quick sides of your choice and you are good to go.

Good luck!

This is THE ultimate roast recipe. Use the advice of the second reviewer down and add a little red wine and worchestershire sauce.

I use mine every time I have people over for a party. I buy a big 3 lb (or maybe its 6 lb??) bag of frozen meatballs from Costco and 2 bottles of original Bulls Eye BBQ sauce. Put the balls in the crock, pour on both bottles of BBQ sauce and cook on low 4-6 hours, or until heated thru. Everyone RAVES about them and there is usually none left. If there are some left, I make white rice for us and serve it over the rice...yum. Good luck and have fun!

we love our crockpot. we do roast a lot. you put the roast in the bottom with your onions, carrots and potato's. then you pour 8 oz of coca cola or pepsi(or the store brand) over it, then a packet of onion soup mix. cook on low for about 8ish hours depending on the size of the roast. it will be soooo moist and tender!! I like to do meatballs in the crockpot. or porkchops. you put the porkchops in the bottom, pour a can of cream of mushroom or celery on top. then you take a packet or 2 of stuffing mix, you mix the right ammount of water with the stuffing and just spoon it on top of the chops. cook on low for i think 4 hours. so yummy!!! we have a cookbook that is just crockpot recipes. plus there is a web site, i cant remember the name, that is devoted to crockpot recipes. another really easy one is to just put some chicken(we always do boneless chicken breasts but you can use any kind) and pour the BBQ sauce over top and cook it. so tender and just tastes so good!!! Good luck and have fun!

Put in about 3-4 boneless chicken breasts (they can even be frozen). Add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of cream of chicken soup. Add a package of frozen veggies (whatever you like, we do the carrots, corn, peas and beans) and a medium chopped up onion. Then add enough water so the mixture covers all the chicken and veggies. Cook on high 5-6 hours. Then, shred the chicken with a fork. Take a package of uncooked buttermilk biscuit dough and tear them into pieces and mix them into the crockpot. Cook on high until the biscuit dough is cooked. Voila, easy chicken and dumplings!

Thanks for posting this!! I have a crock pot recipes book and I have found it to be hit or miss. Love hearing these yummy favorites from our fellow mamas! OK, my go-to recipe (that my 3 year old, my husband and my whole extended family loves) is sausage and sauerkraut. It's a dump and run to work recipe! 1-2 packages Hilshire Farm Polish kielbasa sausage (the big u-shaped kind) or whatever is on sale--I like the turkey kind to be slightly healthier. Cut them up into 2-3 inch pieces. (I cut them on an angle to look fancier. LOL) One bag of sauerkraut--poke a bunch of holes in the bag and squeeze most of the juice out over the sink. Then throw the kraut in the pot with the sausage. Add about half of the largest jar size of applesauce and half a bottle of beer (it's delish without the beer too, but def. better with it.) Mix it all up and turn on for about 8 hours more or less. It's so forgiving. It also is delicious to use pork chops instead of sausage. Sometimes I put in both together. This is a super hit. The sauerkraut is sweet and sour and even the kids love it. The sausage casing is soft and my son eats this like crazy--never requests for peeling the casing off. The pork chops just fall apart with a fork. Serve with the remaining applesauce on the side. Cooked carrots go well with this as another side. Yum!!!

I was just at the hairdressers yesterday, and she asked me if I'd heard of the website crockpotgirls.com. She said they have a ton of neat recipes on there, and they are also on facebook. She said on facebook, they blog about certain recipes. Have fun!! Oh, and this is what I like to make in my crockpot. I put in a roast (arm or chuck) and turn it on low about 7 in the morning. I put in a little water too, about an inch. I sprinkle lots of seasonings in there, garlic, pepper, and anything else that sounds good. I put a cut up onion on top. Put a lid on it, and about 3:00 I put potatoes on top, and carrots, celery. Then about 5 or 6, everythings done. We smash up our potatoes on the plate, and put runny gravy on it, have carrots and celery with it, and if I'm feeling like gaining another pound, I might make some rolls in the oven to go with it. Everyone loves it.
You can make all kinds of soups in there too.
