Yeah well I knew that all along. :p
Did you know that a cat will suck the breath out of your baby? :p
So for all who answered in on this hot topic yesterday: guess what the pediatrician said? She just kind of rolled her eyes and said this was a more common belief generations ago and that there was no proven correlation between babies who don't crawl and go straight to walking -- having any learning disabilities. She said her main concern as a pediatrician was that the baby showed some sort of interest and figured out HOW to move from point A to point B, and whether they scooted, crawled, or walked there first was really irrelevant. And that every baby was different. Just wanted to share! Thanks for everyone's input, very interesting topic!

glad you talked to your pediatrician about it.
I must have missed this yesterday.
Our daughter walked unassisted at 6 months.. Never crawled.. Any time I have stated this here, some moms moms have said "oh no, this they have to crawl as a development". We even had a care giver tell us to stop her from walking.. I told her, "there was no way to make her stop.".
And yet our child graduated as a National Merit Scholar, was also an early talker, could lift her head the moment she was born could scramble out of her crib at a year.. . There is such a large space for what is "normal"..
Good for you, asking the Pediatrician..
take everything you hear with a grain of salt. Our dd had great head control at a very early age, could stand and bounce at 3 mo crawled backwards at 5 mo and was pulling herself up at 6mo and fully walking on her own at 8 mo. she never crawled forward, once she was able to pull herself up that was it. away she went.
Funny about the cat comment I am curious what other Old Wives tales are still circulating.
Great to hear, thanks!
