Helo,

My daughter is a picky eater but she will eat crackers. I am looking for crackers that are on the healthy side - but are tasty, too. We've tried the Kashi - any other advice?

Thanks!

Here's what you do, take a walk down the cracker aisle at the grocery store...pick up any box with whole grain/whole wheat and look at the label. Compare the boxes based on highest fiber and lowest sodium and that is the one to get. Special K makes a yummy one cracker in multi-grain, it's new and I like it and my son likes them too.

Trader Joe's has a whole wheat flax seed cracker that's delicious. They're the only crackers I feed my daughter and I gobble them up myself. They're minis and fit right in her snack trap.

JC-
My kids eat crackers and cookies from Melaleuca - they are 70% organic and 100% Natural- the crackers come in cheese (like cheez it's but with real cheese) and multi-grain. The cookies are in CC or Oatmeal raisin - my 8 yr old eats Melaleuca's Attain meal bars for snack at school too. Since Melaleuca is a referral company , you can't see their products on-line or purchase them but you can take a tour to learn more about the company at www.melaleuca.com enjoy

My 3 y/o son is the same way. I buy Ritz w/ roasted vegatables. He loves them!! I have to buy about 4 boxes to last two weeks. They are so good -- now me and my hubby eat them with cream cheese!

HI JC,

I just read that wheat thins came out with a new very healthy and tastey cracker. Wheat Thins Fiber Selects Garden Vegetable is the one in the health article I was reading as a healthy snack for your kids. Best of luck I am going to try them on my 12 1/2 month old. However, my daughter does like Annie's Cheddar bunnies too whcih ar eway better than gold fish in my opinion!!!

Have you tried Earth's Best? They have a bunch of crackers and cookies that are healthy and organic. Their website is www.earthsbest.com, and you can order from the site; however many grocery stores (and Fresh Direct, if you're in NYC) carry their products.

I definately agree with with the flax seed crackers. I get an organic nacho chip that is flax seed and soy. Kids love them. My 2 1/2 year is a picky eater who also loves crackers. Toll house and Nabissco both have lines of whole wheat and multigrain that's is good and healthy. Also both my kids love the half cracker/half pretlez ones too.

Earth's Best makes a number of healthy crackers and cookies. You might want to check your local health food stores too.
Good Luck!

We like all the crackers at Trader Joes. My 2 1/2 year old eats them all. They are priced well and are good for you too. No hydrogenated oils and some are organic!

Have you tried Back to Nature? They have great options that are low in sugar, whole grain, with no saturated fats, high fructose corn syrup and lots of fiber.

I think all kids LOOOOVE crackers! My kids will eat any kind, I try different kinds, that are whole grain, high in fiber, or have vegetables in them. They even have whole grain gold fish now. Also try to offer cheese, lunchmeat, yogurt, hummus dip, etc to make a healthier snack.

Toddler mum mums (Look at Whole Foods) and the Earth's Best brand (still crackers, but at least they have added vitamins and iron) are good.

But honestly, it's ok for her to have crackers. Find one that doesn't have high fructose corn syrup, and is preferably whole wheat. If she's really a picky eater, you have to pick your battles! Make sure she's getting cheese, hummos, or peanut butter on her crackers, and she'll be just fine! :)

Earth's Best Crunchin' Crackers are great. My 10 month old loves them and some cousins of his (older) did as well. You should give her what you like to eat - if they taste good to you, they will to her as well.

WASA Crisp'n light 7 grain crackerbread. 2g fiber, 8g whole grains per serving. They come in a 4.9oz box. They are a flat rectangular shape, and have the airy texture like Cheeze Doodles. Very good!
