Hi Moms,
Every Sunday I buy the paper to cut out the coupons to try and save as much money as possiable. Does anyone have any suggestions on where else I can find coupons besides the Sunday paper? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
Have you looked into www.chicagonow.com/frugalista? She always has crazy ways to save money and often tells about how she made money shopping. She also tell you how she did it.

Hi there! First of all... this is more than just coupon sites but want to put the info out there in case you did not know and for others who may read your post so they can save too! Hope you do not mind!

Ok... few things first :)
Never buy anything just because you have a coupon! Make sure it is something that you will actually use! I do not know how many $$$ I have spent buying some weird thing since it was a $1 coupon and have thrown it out since it expired or just was weird! lol The ONLY time you should get something you will not use is when it is for FREE! You can then donate it to where ever you would like and it is your way of giving to charity without breaking your bank!
When clipping coupons.... clip them ALL even if it is something you may never use! The only reason I say this is sometimes Walgreens will have a sale and when you get back register rewards it can end up being FREE or even a money maker! This is the only time you should buy something you will not use!
Another thing too.... KMart has quite a few double coupon days! So, those items that you can get for FREE that you will not use you can donate to a shelter or pet shelter or even sell in a garage sale for cheap (yes, I have seen people do that)! My hubby was pissed when I came home with cat food and cat treats... we have no cats! lol But I gave some to a pet shelter and some to my sister who is strapped for cash also and does not get the papers we do out here with all the coupons!
www.coupons.com When reading some of the blogs they will tell you to go there as well. You can get some great coupons and save them (usually for a month they are good) and when something comes on sale if it is something you will use or get for FREE then take advantage of it! OHHHH YEAH!!! Sometimes if you put in a different zipcode you can get different coupons. I was able to get some for Snuggle Fab softener and when it was double coupons at Kmart I got 8 FREE bottles this way! Watch for blog posts and if you do not see the item they are talking about you just start other zips in other states! lol
www.couponcravings.com and www.moneysavingmom.com I check these out a couple of times daily! In the last 6 months I have gotten a FREE quart of Glidden paint a FREE 2 year subscription to Parent Magazine a FREE year sub. to KIWI and about 5 others my hubby reads! I also have scored 5 FREE candy bars, FREE Old Orchard Healthy Balance juice, FREE Beef Oscar Mayer hotdogs, a 30 day supply of Joint Juice and I can go on and on.... these people know thier couponing and freebies well and thankfully they share it with the rest of us! They also tell you every Sunday and sometimes even Sat night on what to get at Walgreens and CVS that is free or close to it.
They have also recently helped me to get a Mr. Potato head for a dollar, Leap Frog Tag for $20 instead of 45 and quite a few other gifts I can use for Christmas!
www.hotcouponworld.com Ok... now this site ROCKS -once you get to understand it! It took me about 3 weeks of reading and following things until I felt confident enough to go to Walgreens and use my coupons to get FREE stuff! You can also follow when there are sales at other stores and grocery store and how to score FREE or cheap stuff... and how to do it! You can also go to the coupon database and print out printables from there. I really like it but have been sticking to just the blogs lately since I have not done much with Walgreens in a few months since my son broke his back. Oh yeah... another nice thing here is that they usually have the ad for Walgreens a few weeks in advance and can tell you what sales are coming up!

Almost forgot a couple other things!!!
*You can go to many many many websites of products you like... most will have a coupon somewhere on there and if not email or call them and ask them for one. Tell them why you love thier product and how you would love to continue to enjoy it and if you ask most of the times they will mail you out coupons!
* ALWAYS when printing a coupon from anyplace other than Coupons.com hit the back button a couple of times- I think 3 on mine- this way you can print it twice! At coupons.com you just have to go back in there and look at the last page. Most companies will allow 2 printables and sometimes even more!
* Get to know your prices from store to store. It makes couponing much more successful!
* try to stock up for a 12 week supply of things when you can afford to. This is about how often the sales will rotate back to that one. So, if you can get 12 weeks of cereal while it is on sale and you have a coupon to make it super cheap or FREE you will not have to buy it again until the next time it goes on sale.
* places like Walgreens and Walmart you can use a coupon for more than the amount it is worth and then it will take money off of the total purchase also. So if you have a $3 coupon for diaper wipes and the wipes are $2.50- then the additional 50 cents should come off of your total bill. They will not give you back money but it is still considered a money maker!
baby wipes are great in baby shower gifts! Since the Huggies is not my brand of choice I just gave a girl 10 containers of them at her shower that I got for free and had additional $ taken off my bill! I also was able to get diapers for $2. a bag from Walgreens after Register Rewards and coupons! Another great shower gift if you know you have one coming up!
* before trying to coupon shop make sure you do LOTS of reading or you may end up losing in the end! Never be afraid to return something if the coupon did not work... or just take it out of the bag and tell the cashier to take it off. Most people- including the young kids- understand about the economy and are impressed with coupon shoppers!
* sign up for the Chicago Trib or get it every Sunday EARLY at the dollar store. The Trib is the best for coupons! And if you are looking through and notice they are great coupons- go out and buy a couple of papers! You can also get them on Sat I think as well at the dollar store! The little bit you spend on it will be worth it in the end!
* Most coupons are for health and beauty that are higher $$$ those are the ones you will use at Walgreens and get for free, cheap or RR back... again read about it at hotcouponworld.com

Try the store websites. Target.com and Jewel's online site both have coupons you can print, and you don't have to use them only at their stores. I also use www.couponcabin.com and couponmom.com to get some coupons. You just have to watch the date listed for the posting. If you look for a particular product, you might find a coupon on the manufacturer's website also.

When buying the Sunday paper make sure it is the Chicago Tribune. The coupons in the Tribune tend to be higher in value.

You need to take Jill Cataldo's supercouponing class. She's at www.jillcataldo.com. It's a free class held mostly at local libraries. You can find coupons all over the web.....coupons.com. smartsource.com. There are lots more.

I read hip2save.blogspot.com and moneysavingmom.com. They have lots of advice about coupons and links to the best coupon printables and deals from sites like coupons.com, redplum, and smartsource.
Before I leave for anywhere (restaurants, shopping, etc.) I always google the name of the establishment and coupon and it is amazing what often comes up. I also do the same before I purchase anything online and can almost always find a coupon!
I second couponmom.com Also coupons.com and smartsource.com and redplum.com Check out hotcouponworld.com and see how others save with coupons and such. You can find blogs for specific stores where people have found all the good deals for you which helps you to start spotting them on your own. Create an e-mail address to sign up for newsletters and get their coupons. Pillsbury always has some, and usually if you're looking for a certain product, check out the manufacturer's website and you might just find a coupon for it.
Have fun! Oh, and if you're interested in the All You magazine, Walmart is the only place that sells it, otherwise you'll need to order it.
Google what you are looking for on the internet. The number is amazing. I always google a restaurant before we go out to eat to see if there is a coupon for the place we are going. You can also sign up for coupon lists and all sorts of things like that. If you are looking for something specific google its name and the word coupon. I found a $4 coupon once on a $4 item by doing that. Good luck. Also, try a coupons exchange if you belong to a club or moms group. One of my clients has a coupon exchange in their front hall. There are little category envelopes where families put coupons they don't need and take coupons they want. IE one envelope has Diapers, one has formula etc.

I second Jill Cataldo! She has a DVD for $20 that you can buy, or attend one of her many FREE classes in the Chicago area. I have been doing her program for about 6 weeks now. A couple of weeks I save $50! The other weeks, because I'm new to this, I haven't saved any money, but I have about 3X's as much stuff in my house. This is great, because I have a home daycare and two small kids. So, this week when I bought 12 cans of fruit for the price of 4, I was loving it. When you first start, it does take A LOT of time to read all the adds and price compare. It becomes quite addicting, but it's awesome. Walgreens is a fantastic place to get your meds/cosmetics/personal care supplies for cheap. Really take advantage of their Rewards! I'm am personally addicted to that store! From what I hear, it takes about 3 months to stock up and then your weekly bill goes dramatically down. I have found it very rewarding. Last night I said to my family, there's icecream in the freezer. My husband asked, when did that get there. I said oh, let me tell you about this great deal! Jewel had Sara Lee Pies for 3.49 and then you get Bryers Ice Cream for free. So, I used a $1 coupon for the pie and $.75 coupon for the ice cream and I got both for under $2. I'm not a dessert maker, do this was fantastic for us! I haven't gone the route of buying things that my family won't use. I just think that's silly. I also want to highlight Jewel (and now Dominick's is jumping on board) with the spend a certain amount, get $5-$15 back in Catalinas. TAKE ADVANTAGE of these sales. At Jewel, the first time I did this (5 shopping trips), I spent $149 and got $60 bucks to use on a future shopping trip. A couple of weeks ago I spent $52 and got $30 back! So, keep your eyes posted, and have fun!
I also use coupons.com and if you shop at Meijer, go to www.meijermealbox.com and they have coupons that can be doubled up with manufacturer coupons.
There is also a magazine called "All You" which has tons of articles about how to do things on the cheap and also loads of coupons. I don't really use most of the items, but enough to pay for the subscription. Happy couponing!
Have you heard of Super Couponing? My mom now gets most of her groceries and many products for free because of it. There's a woman named Jill who does classes and has a website where she tells people how to combine sales with coupons to get stuff for free or almost free. She has links to many coupon websites in her blog on the site. You have to check out supercouponing.com!
you can download from Smart Source and Red Plum online. There is a lady from Chicago that started a supercouponing group. She gives advice on how to stock up and save by using a 12 week cycle. Save the coupon booklets(don't cut the coupons out) Go to CouponMom.com and sign up and they list different stores(Dominicks/Jewel/Walgreens/CVS/Walmart) for examples on what they have on sale and were they have coupons. st.louis mommy is great. I love her blog because she list all the coupons and links to print them out. She also tells you coupons that will be found in the All You magazine. She also has links to coupon mom and other sites, but list the printable coupons. Walgreens, Target, Jewel and Kroger all except manufactor coupons and their coupon together. So if you have a $1.00 diaper coupon from the paper and a $1.00 coupon that you got from the store, or their website you can use them together. I just went grocery shopping and I gave her all my coupons and I had $67.00 worth of coupons. The total was $166. but I only paid $96. That was everything I need for to make T-Day dinner for 15 people, that included a 18 lb butterball turkey, plus my weekly grocery trip and I bought four cases of soda. I will admit that it is really hard to get started because it takes some time. As long as you can stay organzied it is easy to maintain. I bought three coupon holders, one for food, one for baby stuff and one for non-food items(cleaning, bathroom stuf, etc.). I would say visit several site and read them and get an idea of what you want and then go from there. It took me about two months to get into a groove of really saving. Also, google coupons, I always type in pepsi/coke coupons just to see if any are available. Then I will buy some soda. Our library has a coupon pile and I have taken coupons in and left them after I have dug through the pile to find some coupons.
