I just recently had sex on my most fertile day me and my husband used condoms I am not on a birth control because I am allergic to it. But my mom just told me that when she got pregnant with me she also used condoms. So now I am freaking out. So my question is does anyone know what the chances of becoming pregnant are while using condoms? Also how long should I wait to take a pregnancy test before it will be accurate? I already have a two year old daughter and I really dont want anymore kids so if anyone can give me some info on this topic I would be greatful.
I never got preg when I used a condome. I would wait until you have a missed period then get a perg test. No need to worry until you have soemthing to worry about.

Condoms are with typical use are 85% effective, but with perfect use they are 99% effective.
My husband and I have been using condoms for 7 years (I can't use BC because I have gallbladder disease--BC effects the gallbladder so I can't use it), we have had NO problems just as long as its on correctly and you don't continue to have intercouse after he ejactulates because semen can leak out. My daughter was planned so I can vouch that condoms was not used during that time. My mom got pregnant with 2 out of the 4 children on BC--boy was I a surprise and unexpected but that was 27 years ago-things have changed since then and any form of BC is different and better in ways--so don't think just because your mom go pregnant YEARS ago means you are too---don't stress out because that can cause you to miss your period all together and then you will really freak--go ahead a take a pregnancy test in a few weeks. When is your period due? You can't test untill a few days before your missed period and that is with the very expensive tests. More than likely you are not pregnant. I think that condoms mork 80% of the time.That is all we used before we started trying to have my son and I never got pregnant. I know that every woman is different though.
If used correctly condoms are 97-99% effective. I wouldn't worry until you miss your period, but if you really want to know, then there are tests on the market that say that you can test up to 5 days before you miss your period.
i would wait 4 weeks to take a test just to be sure or 1 week after missed period also i believe condoms say on the package that they are 92 or 98% affective not surewhich but the package should say
Hi K....I cant take BC for the same reasons as you. I have a reaction. Condoms are as safe as any BC as long as it is used correctly. As soon as he does his thing(LOL) he needs to pull out. He should not take it off any where near you. I highly recomend the IUD as I have done extensive reasearch on it. I want to have more kids and so I have not gone to get the IUD, but believe me when I say, "I will be when I have baby #2". Whenever that is.LOL. I have practiced (Family Planning) for years. All that is, is logging EVERYTHING about you periods, ovulations, sex, etc...and it has worked for 11 months now. I am ready to start trying to have a baby again, but we are waiting a few more months. I have logged so much info about my periods that it has made my doctors appt very easy. I wasnt even late on my period when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. I think it is around 13 days after unprotected sex, you can determine if you are pregnant.
I believe that condoms are over 99% effective. They will have the information on the box or in the insert from the condoms. It is very unlikely that you are pregnant if you properly used a condom. I wouldn't worry at this point. Wait a few weeks to see if you have your normal cycle first. Also, remember that stress can affect your cycle so don't worry if you are a few days late. Don't freak out until you are at least a week late. =)
