My oldest son had 6 teeth by 6 months, 4 on the bottom, 2 on top. His first was at 8 weeks. All kids are different. Try the refrigerated teethers, and bibs, lots of bibs.....
I have a 9 week old, who is displaying the same type of behavior as my girls did when they were teething. But, my girls did not cut their first tooth until they were almost a year old each!
I know he is eating plenty, I am nursing. I nurse on demand, and, he nurses really well every 2 - 4 hours. I have a let down with each session, and, I let him nurse until he stops himself. He burps well, poops well, and, I change so many wet diapers we have considered cloth to cut down on the waste!
Here is what is going on though:
He has been really fussy for the past 5 or 6 days. He is chewing on his hand, waking from his sleep doing so even. He won't take a binky anymore, he just chews on it when we put it in his mouth. He is also drooling. Poor guy is scratching his face when he is chomping on his fingers though so I am considering putting mittens back on him. I just think this seems young, and, I do not feel anything yet, but, I have always heard all babies teeth at different times. Have any of your babies started teething so young?

I've heard the same, but I would think it is still pretty early. DD had a full set of chompers by 10 months, but still hadn't started until 7 months.
These can also be signs of ear infections. Have you had his ears checked?
Hope he gets to feeling better.
My son started getting his first tooth at 2 months, my daughter was 5 months. Every child is different. I was worried when my daughter didn't start at 2 months like her older brother. But I was still get his ears checked just incase. My little brother has lots of problems with his ears that we didn't catch in time, and he ended up sick all the time and with tubes in his ears.
Some babies are born with a tooth or two so yes, he could be teething. My youngest loved a firm, liquid filled teething ring that we kept in the fridge to keep it cold. The cold soothes the gums as they gnaw away on it. I think we bought it at Babies/Kids R Us. The squeaking may drive you nuts, though.
Good luck.
Hi. It could be teething. My daughter got her first tooth when she was 1 month!!! good luck.
My daughter got her first tooth at 4 months old, so it's entirely possible, but I might rule out an ear infection just to be sure since it is waking him up and he seems that uncomfortable. Has he been congested at all? There may be some fluid buildup that's causing his ears to hurt and that pain can radiate into their face. Just a thought! It could very well be teething too, you just never know which is the hard part!
Yes this is possible, try something that is firm and cool and see if this helps, cut the nails and try, to keep the face so it does not get chapped.
Absolutely YES, he sounds like he is teething. My son and daughter started teething around this same time. When they turned 3 months old, their 1st tooth popped out. My mother told me that my son was teething at this age, and I couldn't believe it. But sure enough, a couple weeks later, a tooth popped out. He was also early loosing them, and he was also early getting his 12 year molers. He got those when he was 10! Anyways, don't be surprised to see his 1st tooth pop out in a couple weeks. :)
My oldest cut his first tooth about 2 weeks before his first birthday, but my second got her first one at 4 months. And of course the teething symptoms can go on for months before the tooth actually appears, so it's definitely possible he's teething already. I was shocked when my daughter's tooth appeared--my initial thought was "Oh, that's why she was so cranky last night!"
Teething is certainly possible- also GERD rises in force at this age and his symptoms could show 'silent reflux.' You might want to research this and see if he shows other symptoms of GERD.
everybody thought my baby girl was starting to teethe at 2 months because she was doing all the signs like you said and she is now 8 months and still no teeth! it is possible, but not likely
