I have learned so many cool things on this site.Things that save either money or my SANITY! What have you learned from other mom's on Mamapedia? Today I just learned you can do your own facial threading. I ordered a Bellabe off of E-Bay as soon as I read another mom's recommendation. Awesome!

I have learned that most people change thier sheets more often than I do!

hehehe!

Oh well... what is popular is not always right, what is right is not always popular! I love that most of the moms on here are exceptionally accepting of others even when they disagree with them... and it is heartwarming to see!

I learned that Costco carries Franz brown-and-serve breadsticks and when you brush them with butter, olive oil and garlic powder after baking, they taste just like the ones at Olive Garden. Yup, the mamas were right. We tried it last night and now my sons think I'm the best mom in the whole world for fixing "Olive Garden" breadsticks for dinner.

I wish I could send Theresa 50 flowers for her answer.
I think some of us have gotten pretty familiar with each other and it can make you bold and ask opinions just as if we were all sitting around a table having a glass of wine yacking. It's unfortunate that some of us what to box in what we can ask or say without becoming offended by it. What we want to talk about shouldnt matter, we are all moms here. Excluding the obviously, ridiculous posts that come from the occasional idiots.

I learned that it is OK to choose my own parenting method, and blame Mamapedia for my choice. "No, I don't want to do CIO. A lot of the mom's on this site I use reccomend doing it this way, and it's working so far!" ~I actually told that to my grandma, who was trying to tell me I HAD to let my baby cry to get her to sleep a few months ago... I don't have anything against CIO, and I did give it a shot, but it just wasn't for us. We used a gradual method, and now we are in a happy place. Hee hee hee. This has become my favorite scapegoat when I disagree with someone because there is always someone on here who shares my opinion. :)

i learned that ECI is okay...all kids learn differently - thanks S.H.
i learned how to get my kiddo to brush his teeth (let him brush mine & it worked out fine)
i've gotten support from all mamas in general, but esp single working mamas
i learned - I'M NOT ALONE...in anything! there's fat mommas on here, single mommas, poor mommas, but also smart ones, rich ones, skinny ones. almost like a Dr. Seuss book - lol!
love this site - a little addicting, but love it! :)

I've learned that the majority of the Mamapedia world, at times, thinks very differently than I might have guessed. Different priorities, worldviews, etc.

I've also learned that there are a lot of very cool, smart women on this forum.

I've learned how to both post and answer questions on a forum. And how NOT to. (I even have written posts about this on my blog.)

I just LOVE to see everyone else's opinions. Even if they differ from mine. Sometimes they get me thinking and contemplating a different point of view, things that I never would have thought of on my own. I think it is great to have so many different people come together and offer advice. Everyone is a sum of their own personal experiences and their advice reflects that.

What is facial threading?

I've had help with a few issues. More like personal opinions on my problems, not learning something specifically.

I really could have used a site like this when my kids were small. At this point though, I learned it all the hard way. :)

One of the things I most appreciate is how open-minded most of the women on this site are, especially on things like homosexuality and transgender issues. The almost universally supportive comments about such issues have been reassuring.

So many things, from good products, recipes, tricks for save money, etc
To the other things that you just get without asking but for being here and get to know so many other moms, like
-that what works for some may not work for all,
-that there are so many ways to rise a kid,
-that my English is not as good as a thought (lol)
-That I can totally disagree with a post of a mom but still totally agree with others of her posts

And then are the things that I don't learn a thing but still love them like many of the JFF, because they make me smile.

EDIT: oh yeah and what it is DH, SD, MIL, CIO, etc, etc however I am not sure if that is a good one.

I have learned that I am not the only person will insane in-laws. Also, I learned that I am the type of person to "tell them like it is"...I usually don't sugar coat my opinions, but it seems alot of mammas agree with me cuz I got tons of flowers.

I have learned that it is possible to receive love from someone you have never met in the form of a positive answer, a flower, or coaching to solve an issue. The mamas on this site are great.
