If you go to a college they have a ton of info there. As a matter of fact you need to fill out Fasfa forms before you can even apply for a loan and that will help get you some grants. That is what Fasfa is. Also if you do a search on the web you will get a lot. Also there are alot of scholarships out there waiting to be used. here is one of the links

Check out scholarships and grants on www.Fastweb.com. It's free to register. The questionairre is a bit long, but there are literally billions of dollars that you could qualify for.

Dear KB,
Try these:
*Johnson & Johnson website "discovernursing.com" There's a section on scholarhip there.
*PEO is a women's organization that gives money or loans to single moms for continuing education (www.peointernational.org)
*Most hospitals pay for nursing education of their employees (doesn't matter what the job title is- you can be an office or maintenance worker or care provider). Maybe you could work now for one who would pay your way. My hospital pays for 2 courses a semester if you are full time, 1 course a semester if you work 20 hours/wk. There is also college loan forgiveness of $2000/year when you work for the hospital.
Good luck. The nursing shortage is real and there is money out there to help change that. If you live in New Jersey, there is state money for nursing education (I'm not sure about PA)

Check with the education office on campus. My sister was able to qualify for tons of grants just for being a single mom. You may even qualify for grants for living expenses to help out while your in school. Congrats & good luck!!

I'm new to mamasource.com but I believe we are all in Delaware right? If so, checkout Christiana Care's website www.christianacare.org and look under their scholarship link. Hope this helps. I think you just have to commit to 1 year of working with them. Dont quote me on this though. Good luck and congratulatins on going back to school!!

make sure you fill out a FAFSA. That will help you qualify for financial aid. Also look at fastweb.com. DO a search for scholarships and grants. There are alot of things out there. Since you are going into nursing make sure you search for things on that. Good Luck!

Hello K.,

Congrats on being accepted and making the decision to return to school. Make sure you fill out a FAFSA, which will allow you to be considered for a pell grant and other assistance. Go to www.fafsa.edu to get started. Be sure to check out what your school offers in terms of scholarships as well. Good luck.
