Columbia Coat Warrenty. Anyone with Experience???

Hi Moms!

When my husband and I bought our coats (probably 7? years ago) the big sales pitch was that Columbia warranties their zippers. If it would ever break, all we have to do is send the coat in and they will either REPAIR OR REPLACE the coat. Well, my husbands zipper just busted off so you can not make the zipper go up or down.

Have you ever had to do this??? What was the result?

My daughters' coat also quit working. It will unzip itself from the bottom at least every other time that we put it on her...... I'm hesitant to pay to send that one in because what if they say there is nothing wrong with it??? It LOOKS fine, just doesn't stay zipped.

Please let me know if any of you have had any experience using this warranty! THANKS!

Sherry: Thanks for looking it up. I'm just wondering how often they choose NOT to follow through with replacing....... I hate to pay the money to ship them only for them to NOT cover it. Our items have NOT been abused and taken well care of. I'm really surprised to be having these issues at all......

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sent the two coats away and they fixed both of them! Replaced both zippers! YAY! I will buy Columbia again!

I googled it for you and it looks pretty straight forward. I would put both coats in and the explanations and send them in. if your lucky they can replace them for you or at least fix them

Yes, I have. A couple of years ago I bought my dds Columbia winter coats (got a steal on Black Friday!). My older dd wore hers the first winter. It still fit the next winter, but part way through, the zipper broke. I sent it in and about 6 weeks later, we got a brand new coat! My dd wore it the rest of the winter. The next winter, it was too small for my older dd, so my younger dd wore it. The next year, the zipper broke on the replacement coat. I sent it in and, about 6 weeks later, we got another brand new coat! That is what my younger dd is wearing right now. I did not have the original receipt. I gave them all our contact info, the estimated date we bought it, and the store it was from. (I actually went to the store first, they said to go to Columbia's website.) I put what was wrong with it, even though it was obvious. I am 100% happy with it and would DEFINATELY buy another Columbia - especially having 2 children close in age that the coat can be handled down to, making the warranty even better! I would highly recommend sending yours in - put down all the info, including the zipper not staying shut. I would bet they would send you new ones. It is WELL worth the postage to send it!

I'm SO glad you asked because I am having the same unzips-from-the-bottom problem with my coat! Guess I will have to wait until winter is done to send it in though!! LOL

I remember reading a post on the disboards.com about someone who had a coat replaced. They called and wrote the company and were sent a new coat. I would call them first and see what they say.
