Cocker Spaniel for Adoption..

My dear mother, is going through a midlife crisis (bless her heart) has left town for God only knows how long, leaving behind a lovely 3 year old Cocker Spaniel named Olivia. I have dogs of my own and they dont eat the same food, Olivia eats Beneful, anything else and she gets diarrhea. She doesnt bark unless she is playing with other dogs. She is kid friendly, truly house trained, unlike my own dogs who will warn you and then its your own fault!

Olivia needs a home. I am exhausted and overwhelmed keeping up to the dogs and feeding them separately, my kids love it but are not giving the help that is needed.

Olivia is 3 years old and my mother has had her since she was a preemie and fed her from a bottle. Now she is about 20lbs, all black and in desperate need of a haircut, when I got her, her fur is so long but I cannot afford to take her for grooming. She is up to date on her shots, or last I knew she was. Only problem is at PetSmart in Plano gave her about 5-6 shots at once and she had an allergic reaction and my mom rushed her to the ER to save her and now no one has a clue which shot she was allergic to. So whomever gets her should be aware of this. She is a friendly dog that likes to sleep in the bed with the kids, but will sleep in her own bed. My mom worked a full time job so Olivia goes outside in the am and then again in the evening but is a completely indoor dog, she doesnt like to walk in grass or anything "un-ladylike" She has never been bred or even had a litter of puppies. I hope to find her an amazing home but if not she will stay in our home with us, and we will sacrifice. I am just hoping to help a family find a dog if they are looking.

What can I do next?

I wish I could take her!! We have a 12 yr old American Cocker Spaniel & he would probably be so sad if I got another one. My sister just had to put her 13 yr old Cocker to sleep, but she lives in NY or I know she'd take her. I wish you luck in finding her a home! She sounds like a doll! :)

I would contact the Cocker Rescue. This dog needs to be in a home where she can get quality loving care and play. IN NO WAY am I saying you hare not doing that.....you have a full plate with your own obligations...Bless you for doing what you can for this pet.

I am owner of a 10 yr old American Cocker, 5 yr old English Cocker and 3 yr old poodle. Very much animal lover and Cockers have a special place in my heart. They are great dogs, good companions and mine are great watchdogs.

Also contact the vet offices as well to see if someone is looking for a new addition.
