Cloth Diaper Covers-fleece or Wool?

Hey mamas!
I've been doing cloth diapers on my son for 15 months. I've enjoyed them and they're fantastic for us.
I've been having stink issues(even when they're clean) with my covers(Thirsties and Bumkins) for a while. I've tried a variety of different solutions for that with no change...
So, I'm considering buying fleece or wool diaper covers. Any recommendations with this? I've heard fleece and wool don't get stinky like the other types of covers do.
I don't sew or knit, so what brand do you recommend? What website? Any help/advice is appreciated.

I've personally had much better luck with wool covers than fleece. In either case compression leaks might be an issue if being worn under clothing, but this was less often a problem with wool than fleece for us. Another big plus to wool is that it's a natural material and breathes and soaks up some of the moisture, unlike fleece which holds in the wet and doesn't allow for any airflow through it. HTH!

I never had good luck with either one really. They both act more as "soakers" than really as waterproof covers. I made some wool ones that I lanolized myself and they were ok but when the diaper got really wet they didn't work at all. I much preferfed my Motherease airflow covers. One thing that I do to prevent stinkies is to keep the covers separate from the diapers. I just wash the covers with my regular laundry and this seems to do the trick. Alternately, I sometimes handwash - this works well too. It's usually quite horrifying how dirty a cover can get even when it doesn't seem like it's done much but prevent a little urine from wetting my kid's clothing! If you do decide to go with wool let me know - I have a nearly full bottle of Eucelen (sp?) wool wash that you can have if you pick it up.

My son is almost exclusively in wool longies and they work wonderful. You can buy them at great prices on Etsy or diaperswappers. I don't like using wool under clothes, rather as clothes. You can get shorties in the summer and it's amazing for overnights too.

If your covers stink, you should try stripping them.

This has always helped me maintain my dipes. I like fleece as a doubler and wool as a cover. Good luck and congrats on the next one!

I use bluepenguin.biz. Love them. I use all-in-ones so I'm not sure what their covers are like. Prices are great, delivery is quick, and they almost always send a freebie!
