I bought a box that came with two tests. I did one 5 days before my missed period and one the day after I missed my period. They both came back positive and they both were right. We had a beautiful baby girl about 8 1/2 month later!
My husband and I are trying to conceive our 2nd child. My period is due early next week and I will be honest---I am anxious and very excited to take a pregnancy test if I don't get a period. Clear Blue box says you can take it up to 5 days before your period is due; however it's more accurate the day and after you miss your period...just wondering if anyone has tested early and gotten an accurate result? Thinking about trying it...or maybe I should just wait?! My period is very regular...every 25 or 26 days.
update 12-2-13
Well the test in August was (-)...and we didn't conceive in September or October either...but November was the magically month and I am thrilled to write that I had a (+) test this past weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I would wait if i were you. I did the same as you and every stinking time got a negative result. Then a week after i still didnt start my period, i took another one and got a + result! Save your money and just do it once!
Good luck! Crossing my fingers for a BIG OLE FAT PLUS SIGN!
Your period being regular is not as important as your ovulation date being accurately assumed.
I would not test early. You can get a false positive due to HCG surges. I would test on the first day of your missed period.
I know it's hard, but relax.
I will say that I tested early on ONE of my five pregnancies and that's the one that tested negative, but was actually positive.
It's better to wait.
I know it is hard to wait, but you really should. I would also suggest after the appropriate waiting time, you go to the dollar store and get some of those tests! Those work just as well if you wait until a missed period and are FAR cheaper. No point in wasting the money to know a week sooner. If you're pregnant, you're pregnant. You can spend the $40 I just saved you on a new outfit for baby.
To answer your question - I have tested positive before a missed period with both the expensive tests and the dollar store tests. I ALWAYS regretted spending the money on the expensive ones! I say WAIT! Good luck, and make sure to let us know!!
With my last pregnancy, I tested 4 days early with Clear Blue and got a positive.
Best wishes!
I've tested early with both my pregnancies (DS is 2, and I am 5 weeks along now). All were negative before my period was supposed to start. Got a positive this time 2 days after my missed period, with my son I was almost a week late before testing positive. Save your money and wait, I wish I had! If you do test, don't assume you are not pregnant if you get an early negative. If you look at the statistics on the box, most tests are only 50-60% accurate 5 days early. Good luck!
The early tests detected mine 5 days BEFORE a period for most of my kids. It was an actual early test, one of the name brands.
I knew it was yes even when a urine test (at Dr.) said no!
And other regular tests all came back no. So, some tests DO tell you early.
How regular is your ovulation? I ovulate very regularly. I took a test 4-5 days before my period was due, but I ovulate pretty early in my cycle. I did get an accurate result, but like I said...I ovulate early. If you ovulate a little early, then you might get an accurate. With that said, it's always more accurate to wait until your period is due.
I've tested positive with the Walmart brand 4 days early and the Target brand 3 days early. Just take them in the morning when your hormone levels are at their highest. I used name brand with my first pregnancy only after I missed my period, but after that I heard generic can be just as accurate so I used generic and got accurate results early.
