My husband left the pack and play in the trunk. We tried to use it and it smelled like mildew. Is there anything that I can do to clean this and is it safe for my daughter to sleep in?

What can I do next?

i would try distilled vinegar first. its dissinfecting with the acidity in it. Works great on our showers. Also set it out in the sun not only to air out but the sun does natural bleaching. it will most likely fade out the fabric but at this point does that really matter?

I always take mine outside and hose them down with soap (laundry) and water then let them dry. I have never had a problem doing it that way.

You should probably leave it outside for a few days if the weather is nice. Maybe spray it down with Febreeze while it is out there. It should do the trick.

I've cleaned Pack 'n Plays with bleach water, soapy water and laundry detergent in water many times before and haven't had a problem. I got a uses one from a friend that smelled a bit musty, so I took it outside hosed it down, then poured a big bucket of hot water with half a laundry cup of Tide with Febreeze in it. I scrubbed down all the surfaces, really pushing the detergent into all the padding and fabric. Then I hosed it down again until the bubbles stopped showing up and left it in the sun to dry. Got all the stink out. If that doesn't work, try the same process with a bucket of bleach water. Good luck!

You can try to wipe it down with a bleach/water mixture. If you use a small amt of bleach it should be okay.

Car wash. Sun dry. Spray it down with a bleach/water solution.

1 tbsp to 1 quart of water. Not very strong at all.

Or vinegar and water solution.

But seriously, we use the car wash for car seats, pack and plays, play pens, all sorts of stuff. The power wash gets the goo out of the cracks and it always is clean.

I suggest you make sure you dry the pad laying flat so it will still be comfortable when all is done.
