Does anybody have a great idea for a christmas present for a great husband that is homemade? I want to do something extra special and creative. I will be getting him something bought also, but wanted to see if any of you have done something special for a homemade Christmas gift for your hubby. I could always write him a poem or a song, but just wondering if there are other ideas out there? Homemade gifts can make the best memories!
Great ideas! Thanks Ladies....I think I'll use one this year and save the rest for years to come! :)

You could fill a jar with 365 reasons why you love your husband...that way he could pull one out each day of the next year!
Mindee-
I love Michelle's idea! Another would be to print out a picture of the two of you with words over it (in a color that lets you still see the pic...) For instance, I picked out a pic of us in black and white and then took words from a song that helped describe how I feel about him and put them over the picture. Then I printed it out and framed it.
Another would be one he actually did for me... he bought a nice leather bound book (you can get them for less than 20 at Barnes & Noble) and wrote letters to me. About how he felt, things that had gone on and how glad he was to have me in his life... it was the best gift EVER! I have it in my nightstand and look at it every so often. :)
Merry Christmas!

I made a notebook for my husband when we were still dating. I wrote one journal entry every day, telling him one new reason I loved him, or something I loved about him. I also put in a few pictures, looked up love poems and copied them in my handwriting in it (still giving credit to the real author...just more special in your own writing), etc... He still has it 10 years later.
I'm going to make my husband some dutch cookies he really likes. I've never made them before. My husband is a PA. He graduated 2 years ago from St Louis Univ.
my husband & i once went to one of those do-it-yourself pottery decoration. we went together, picked out something for each other and painted it. it was really fun to have something we made, but we also had the time, just hanging out together. some of them let you bring wine on a friday night & it's like a date!
Personally I'd make a quilt, but I am a quilter.
Maybe make him one of those picture slide shows set to music. I forget what they are called now, it's 3am :) I made one for my hubby last year of our daughters and the slides were in order to show how they were growing. I put the song "You're Gonna Miss This" By Trace Adkins. Be careful, if you do this, you'll need a couple boxes of Puffs with Lotion. I cried a lot while I was putting this together.
One year I did a set of nesting boxes for my hubby, each filled with something small and thoughtful paired with a note. For example, my husband was into woodworking at the time and one box had a small shop note pad for measurements and the note said something like, "For the woodworker who always manages to make special things for our home." Each box played to a different interest, hobby or part of his personality. He absolutely loved it plus I think it gave him some affirmations and encouragement.
I make my husband a pajama pants for Christmas.
You could do a 12 days of Christmas type of thing starting on December 14th. On the first day, you could give one ornament, on the second day, you could give two coffee mugs, on the third day cookies, etc.
A fleece blanket would be an inexpensive option as well. you can puchase the fleece material and then either cut a fringe edge around it or do a blanket stitch around the edges. This is super easy even if you are not good at sewing.
i got a piece of wood, painted it, and put a custom quote in vinyl letters on it. i think the key for this was asking him what is a quote that makes him laugh or smile. the sign hangs in a room used by the whole family, but the quote really only has meaning to my husband. but that doesn't matter to me because it makes him smile.
My husband's favorite homemade gift was two or three fleece caps that I gave him about 13 years ago. We have been divorced for 10 years (no relationship to the gift of caps). Just two weeks ago, he visited, was wearing his cap, and would like me to make another one for him.
