Christmas Lights

My husband and I are considering hiring a company to install our outdoor Christmas lights. I see plenty of signs in our neighborhood and was pleased to see a sign from an off-duty firefighter. But I'm curious as to how much we can expect to pay? We've never done this before and we don't want much, just some lights on the trees and some on the house. Does anyone know what we can expect to pay and if they have a recommendation for someone that would be great too.

What can I do next?

I've never seen one for less thatn $250 and usually above $350 for light installation. We looked a lot last year because my father is getting too old to put lights up and it scares my mom to death to have him on the roof. We ended up just driving up there and doing it ourselves for them.

We have had lights put on our house for the past few years. We skipped this year for money reasons since my husband was laid off. We were paying $350 for installation and take down of a mixture of C9 and isicle lights around the roof line of our house. We have a two story house with very steep pitches and we probably use 10 to 12 stings of lights. We have used the same individual for nine years. We have always done the bushes and yard ourself.

We both love lights on our house and are unwilling to do it ourself. We have considered it our Christmas present to each other. We try to have them up for the whole time between Thanksgiving and New Years which helps us feel that it waw worth it.

Why not call the signs in the yards you admire and ask what they charge? :) Professionals - even seasonally employed pros - are accustomed to giving estimates.

I read an article in the paper last week about a man who installs lights. He said the average price was $150 to $400, depending on what you wanted done. And it cost more if you use their lights. HTH

There is a lady in my church women's group and her husband hangs Christmas lights. If you'd like their information, let me know.
