Christmas Gifts for Mothers

A DVD is great -another idea might be a picture collage - you can do it yourself with the girls and even frame it. They can write a note to go along with it.

If they are old enough, you could start now and have them do a little journal for their Moms. They could write about memories they have, things they've done together, feelings they have for their Mom....

Another thing my son did one year for Mom's day was to paint a flower pot for me and he gave me a plant. Take a plain flower pot and let the girls paint it - any design they'd like, maybe even paint a note on it, and then buy a plant to put in it and give their Mom.

I think it's great that you have such a good relationship with all of them!

What a great idea... you're very thoughtful! Many step mom's would never think to do this, but rather waste so much energy disliking the other party.

Anyhow - Depending on how crafty you & the girls are: you all could knit a scarf for blanket for the mom's, you could do a basic quilt with the girls pictures or pacthes of their favorite colored material? Another thought. The kids could make a coupon book of 5 nice things they will do for their parent, ie - breakfast in bed, hand massage, etc! Another thought would be that you help the girls cook their mom's favorite dessert & bring it with them for the holidays!

Also, maybe a custom cookbook with their favorite foods boxed with spices and already made cookies. I did this one year for my family. Hobby lobby has these little wedding specific tin canisters that you can decorate and fill with whatever. i printed labels in fancy fonts and taped them on top. Vitamin cottage sells a wonderful array of fresh spices in bulk. Mine gift was cancer fighting specific.

What about personalized calenders, with the pictures of the girls at the top of each month. Or have the girls help you make a variety of cute special occasion cards and put them together with a ribbon. That way the mom's can give a cute card for a Birthday or shower, etc but not have to spend time making them. I've also seen a really cute scrapbook event calender. Where you personalize each page of the month and include all the family birthday's, anniversaries, etc.
