Hello, my name is S. C., this year my family is really struggling to bring in the christmas atmosphere in our home. The love is here but there are no decorations. This will be the first year my husband and I couldn't afford things like decorations for christmas. We just recently bought a nice christmas tree for $20 from his friend a work. We still need ornaments, lights and any other decorations. Creative Ideas to make it happen this year would help also. We moved here two years ago and still financially adjusting. If you have decorations that you aren't using anymore and willing to help us out please let me know by emailing me at ____@____.com Thanks alot.

What can I do next?

Hi, I saw a room decorated in a celtic theme for Christmas on TV, and it was quite beautiful. What this has to do with your request is that they had made the decorations for the tree. They stung popcorn and dried cranberries on string, and baked sugar cookies cut into holiday shapes to hang as ornaments. The cookies were, traditionally, to be the reward for taking down the tree after Christmas. Personally, I don't think I could eat a cookie that had been hanging on a tree for a couple of weeks, lol! The other lady who suggested making ornaments form construction paper had a good idea. I remember I loved making the same types of things for our tree when I was a child. Christmases were always tight for us, but I didn't know it then, and making things for decorations is a great holdiay memory for me. I hope this helps.

Merry Christmas,
D.

We haven't put up a tree in a few years, so I have a box or two of ornaments if you like. With a toddler under two, I just worry about her pulling the tree down, and the cost of a tree is expensive! Letme know and we could meet up somewhere.

You can get on freecycle.com and find more than enough I am sure. You can advertise for what you need or there could be some items listed. We personally have not had a tree for about 6 years now, due to limited space. Sorry I can't help more.

Hi, S.! Your kids are old enough to help make Christmas ornaments. It could be fun...a little construction paper, some glue and markers/crayons. Maybe a little glitter! cut out shapes like trees or balls and let your kids decorate them! You can have yourself a homemade Christmas! They can also make paper chains to count down the days till Christmas. They can draw pictures of Santa. Do you have clay at home? You could make a plate with it to put cookies for Santa on. Be creative! Did you lose your decorations from Christmas' past in the move?

Have fun with it! Merry Christmas!!
