I am looking for something neat and different for this years Christmas cards. It will only be of my 2 little ones. A 5 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy. I always get a cute picture of them sitting in front of the tree, and I want to spice it up a little. Does anyone have any ideas that are unusual?

Thank you :)

We only have one child - and every year we go to some outdoor Christmas festival or parade with our Santa hats on. Every year - my husband sticks his hand out and takes our picture with our 3 heads close together and Christmas decorations barely visible in the background. This has been our Christmas card every year, and it's fun because each year you can really see the difference a year makes in my daughter (she's 6 1/2 now). It seems like I've seen some cute ones over the years from other people - but my mind is drawing a blank.....if you get some early snow - maybe bundle them up, stand on a ladder and look down on them in the snow making angels and snap their picture! Have fun!
PS) my daughter's name is H. - so her Santa hat has a glittery H. sprig on the white part!

I always do photo Christmas cards of my girls. A few years ago I dressed them in pajamas and had their picture made while the older one was reading to the younger one. The caption on the card said, Twas the night before Christmas...

How about a picture of them playing outside together. Or maybe making some Christmas cookies. Or something handmade by them. For Valentine's Day last year I made cards using my kid's hands. I outlined their hands and then used an eyelet to attach them both together. It was simple and personal. My kids are 6 and 3 so you could tell whose hand was whose.

This might take some advance planning for next year, but when we were in NC at the beach this summer, I purposely took Santa hats with us, and got a picture of my 4 yr olds holding hands in front of the ocean with santa hats on (in their bathing suits). It is so darling; i've been waiting since July to get my xmas cards ready!! Having said that, Snapfish has a card for 2010 where there are 12 pictures you can insert, plus many more varieties. Maybe you can take one in front of the tree and include other pictures from this year on your picture card.

Some of my favorites are the picture cards where the kids are not posed! One year I tried to get my daughter to smile in front of the tree and she was just scrunching her eyes up super tight but still smiling. Of course she was also on one of her riding toys. It was the best I could get so we just said, "No peeking. Santa will be here soon!" It was fun to not have a traditional picture!
