We can't afford anything expensive this year so I am going all homemade for Mother's Day and Father's Day and maybe even Birthdays, if I can come up with ideas. Here's what I need from you....

1. Your favorite chocolate candy recipes. Things that I can place into a decorated Quaker Oatmeal container and mail to both my MIL and mother.

2. Baking ideas, or other ideas, for my FIL and father. FIL doesn't like anything unhealthy and sweet (including cookies) and my father doesn't like chocolate. He DOES like mint things though...

3. Birthday gift I can make and mail to my FIL next month... He is a NY Giants fan and I'd like to make an inexpensive something...

Thanks!

Very easy and very good peanut butter fudge

1 bag white chocolate chips
1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cup peanut butter (use good kind like Jiff)
Pam cooking spray

Line a 9x9 pyrex with aluminum foil and spray with Pam. In a separate bowl, melt bag of white chips and 1 cup of peanut butter in the microwave, stir every 30-45 seconds to prevent burning. Pour into the pyrex. Melt the bag of chocolate chips with 1/3 cup of peanut butter, stirring every 30-45 seconds (you can use the same bowl). Pour the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter mixture in the pyrex. Put in fridge for a few hours to harden. Cut and serve. You can leave these out, and they won't melt, or store in fridge.

Since we have 4 sets of grandparents.... Calendars of my daughter's year are what they get for mother's and father's day. So each month has pictures from her in that month the year before. They can see how she changed each month and how much she has grown this year compared to last. I also send a card with her hand print. :)

Hi!

OK, my first thought for all of them is PHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS!!! My mom always says she does not want anything because she has everything. Photos are what she loves. I had a calendar made for her through Costco's photo department on-line. It was wonderful and very inexpensive! I had a photo mug done for my dad and step-father through Costco as well. It was inexpensive. The great thing was they did not look inexpensive.

Here is a quick and easy chocolate candy recipe:

World's Easiest Candy

1 package chocolate chips (choose your flavor)
1 cup raisins, peanuts or almonds

Slowly melt chocolate chips. Once melted stir in raisins, peanuts or almonds (or your own creation). Drop onto cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Place in fridge until set. Enjoy!

I hope these ideas help!

Fleece blankets are very cheap to make. About $15 for fabric and 1 hour of your time to tye knots. The Joanns stores carry a lot of " theme" type material.

Chex mix is fun and easy to make. Puppy Chow mix ( choc and cereal thing) not sure the recipe. may need to google it.
