Has anyone tried Chlomid for pregnancy? I have a few fertility issues one being Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS. I got pregnant with my son on my first try (totally blew my mind). This time we haven't been so lucky. I have had one round of Chlomid 100mg and no luck this cycle. I also have to pay for inseminations so it's not free for me. Can anyone give me tips or suggestions on Chlomid or getting pregnant?

I too have PCOS, and just had my daughter 5 weeks ago. What worked for me was a combination of Metformin and acupuncture. I read a lot on acupuncture and it had an 85% success rate. There is a great Dr in Berkley area, Susan Burke. I really truly believed it worked for me. Might be worth a try. I went 5 times and the next week got pregnant. I hadn't ovulated in over a year before that. Good Luck!

I had PCOS (recently went through testing and was told I no longer have it???) and clomid did not work for me. I did injections -- follistim and cannot remember the others. I ended up doing I.U.I. (intrauterine insemination) and have twin girls. I was on the injections for about 4 months, and had laparoscopy and got pregnant immediately after the laparoscopy (which I hear is quite common). I was fortunate enough that my insurance covered all the injections. I do hear clomid works but, it did not for me. Good luck!!!!!

Try using the ovulation kits. It worked for me. It took me over 2 years to get pregnant with my first son, but my second, I got pregnant on my first round of clomid thanks to the ovulation kit.

Good luck!

I also have PCOS. I didn't ovulate the first time we tried Clomid so we didn't both wasting any more time with it given my age at the time we started to try to get pregnant (34/35). My Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE) put me on Glucophage/Metformin to help with the PCOS and we did IVF. PCOS can affect not only your cycle, but the quality of your eggs. You should at least consult with an RE even if you don't seek ongoing treatment with one.

I was on Chlomid for two months. i.e. 5 tablets one month and then 5 tablets the next. It brought up my levels to 16.8 (enough for the doctor to know I would ovulate). This was July and August. I went in for insemination in September. Now I have a beautiful 5 year old! Maybe you just were not on Chlomid long enough. I know the doctors at Henry Ford (Crooks & Big Beaver) are the best.
Wishing you all the very best.
