Go to meetup.com and see if there are any Moms groups in your area. Also contact the library and parks and rec depart for a list of activities in your area.

Your neighborhood? Does your neighborhood have an active HOA and website?

Go to mom and me classes at Gymboree, music, etc. Talk to other moms while you are at the park, in the mall play centers, etc.

At 13 months, you might find a MDO just one morning a week which gives your daughter some social time and you some time to run errands, etc.

We've lived in neighborhoods that were full of young families and it was not hard to meet people, especially in spring or on nice days when people would be outside.

Be patient, friendly and introduce yourself to neighbors, and things will fall into place. I am not familiar with the meetup groups but they sound like a good idea!

I suggest you re-post this with your town in the title - something like "Toddler Play Groups in the Huber Heights OH area" will get you many many more responses.

Ask your toddler's pediatrician or your local La Leche League leader (it's okay, you don't have to still be breastfeeding) whether they know of any local playgroups. At that age, the interaction is mostly for the moms/dads, the babies pretty much do "parallel play" - they play near each other. You might also look into classes like Gymboree, Little Gym, etc., and see whether your local library has a toddler story hour.

Click on the link and you can search in your state/city for a MOMS Club. When my kids were younger this club was such a blessing. I was the newsletter editor for our chapter and it was a lot of fun.

Good Luck!
