I really need help. I am trying to figure out where to have my daughter's 2nd birthday party. Since it's normally chilly that time of year, I need to have it somewhere inside. I just can't find anyplace that I really like. She doesn't like chuck E. Cheese (scared of the mouse!). I had her 1st birthday party at home so I wanted to do something different this year. Please help! My time is running out!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

i decided to have her party at McDonald's inside their playland. For $70 for 10 children, it includes a host/hostess, cake, ice cream, setup, cleanup, decorations and a happy meal for each child. Thanks to everyone for your help!

Have a nice home party. The fact of the matter is she's two and probably will remember all her loved ones around her there as much as Pump It Up(cost us $300 for our son's 5th) or Rollie Pollies when she is older. Save the money for older BD parties when she will really connect to it. There is SO MUCH pressure to make these events bigger and better than the last you went to. So I say "old school' cake & ice cream and a few party games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey or Bean Bag Toss. Good luck and the mouse scares me too!

I recommend the Ultimate Playzone http://ultimateplayzone.com/ in Cockeysville. It's a little hard to find the first time because it isn't right on York Road, but it's a great place to have a party. They have huge inflatables for the kids to play on, and there is one specially for the little kids. There is a party room for the cake and party time, and time in each of the 2 huge play zones. I've been to 2 parties there and the kids LOVE it.

Do you belong to a Gym or healthclub or something like that. I belong to the Columbia Association and they do wonderful Children's birthday parties. Pump it up in Elkridge also has fun b-day parties for kids of all ages. I even had fun on their equipment:-)

Personally, I don't see the point in having a huge celebration at such a young age. When the children are this young its more of a social gathering for the parents than it is for the child (quite honestly, they don't know/care if they don't get a big bday party).

That being said, my niece's bday is in November and my sister in law has the family and friends over for a cookout/bonfire. The kids run around and play in the yard, the adults socialize and everyone has a great time.
