N.P.
I think you might be happiest money wise and arrangement wise with an au pair. You can enroll the older one into a preschool or library programs to continue his learning and still be less money over all.
I am pregnant with my 3rd "surprise" child and have to make a decision on child care for all 3. Currently my 2 go to daycare but putting three in daycare is very expensive and will lead to very chaotic mornings. I want to keep the 4 year old in a daycare and would like to keep the 2 yr old in at least a few days a week but again, cost
I am struggling with get a nanny, in home daycare, all three in daycare? Do I pull the 2 year old out completely when he is learning SO much right now? Do I change to a cheaper daycare 3 mos before the baby is born, after baby......
Anyone have suggestions for three? I have two full years till Kindergarten

The cost of daycare center for 3 is crazy.. It might just cost all or most of your paycheck...
you need a nanny.. it is super easy with a nanny.. you get up and get dressed..kids stay in bed till they wake up. you can sign 4 year old up for preschool.. the 3 day a week 3 hour preschool.. nanny can drive him to preschool. preschool for a few hours is not that expensive.
he needs the preschool experience not the 11 hour days at day care.
I'd do a nanny. If you get a good nanny, she'll be able to teach your four year old, engage your two year old, and take great care of the baby. Kids truly do not need daycare/preschool in order to be completely ready for kindergarten and self possessed. And if you feel really strongly, you can put your four year old in a morning preschool a few days a week for socialization. For the two year old... sure he's learning a ton right now... but he'll learn a ton no matter where he is. It's the age, not the amazingness of one particular daycare program.
Why do you have 2 full years before Kindergarten? Is your oldest already 4, or turning 4 soon?
My middle child turns 4 this weekend and he'll be in Kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year.
I would do a nanny for 3 kids.
I have been in your situation, and I can say from experience, that I thought having a nanny would be great, but it was the worst decision I ever made. The cost of a professional nanny in Naperville is close to $700.00-$1000.00($ 12-20 per hour) a week for three kids. I regret not having put them in my in home day care setting and losing a spot. Most in home day care settings will offer you a sibling discount and try and work around your needs (IMHO). I would transition the older two children before the baby arrives, just so they are comfortable there. Most in home day care's range from $175-$250 a week and a lot of them are accredited and have a preschool curriculum, some also do a before and after school program if the kids are in school close to them.
I hope this helps.
We have a wonderful home daycare that my daughter goes to, and my son does in the summer.
Do you have to work? That might seem silly, but I have to work as I carry the health insurance for the family.
Our home daycare is awesome and very reasonably priced. I wish she was closer to my house so she could watch my son, but we have one more year until we just need after school care.
Good luck
I have 3 in daycare full time. Statistically when the 3rd comes, mom decides to pull the kids out. The owner of my daycare knows this and she approached me telling me she'd give me a good deal and work with me. I thought yeah right, since the current "discount" is 10% of the cheapest of the 2 enrolled. At first I told her I wasn't sure (this was super early on like right after I announced that I was pregnant). By month 5 I think she called me one evening and shared with me the "good deal." I was blown away! $200/month more for the baby. That's right, not per week but per month. The actual rate is somewhere between $1200-1300. So for 3 I pay $2400/month. She's a smart business woman indeed! Even at $800/month/child, she's likely still making money. I was valuable as a customer. So if I were you, I would approach the owner and let her know you're pregnant and considering your options. I'm sure you're a valuable customer to her and if you stay with her she'll have your steady business for another 5-6 years if she works with you, otherwise she looses your business altogether...... You have the upper hand. If you're not comfortable negotiating, have your husband go in ammunated with the information I gave you at my daycare.
We had one au pair for two years, and the next for one and a half years. Check out some of the au pair programs. The cost doesn't change for the number of children, and it's more dependable to have someone in the home, so you can leave in the morning, without having to wake them up and take them somewhere, or wait for a nanny to come to your home. Each has already had a background check. You can review their profiles, interview each, and make your choice. They are all licensed, and you can deduct part of the expense from your income tax.
Make the 2 year old mommy's helper and keep 4 year old in school. There is a very responsible Classical Learning Program merged with Montessori at Naperville Christian Academy’s pre-grammar program. The program allows children ranging in age from three (3) to six (6) years old to begin their acquisition of knowledge through their senses and concrete objects. Utilizing Montessori-style teaching and methods, the prepared environment challenges the child’s understanding of essential concepts and nurtures the child’s desire for order and tranquility in the learning process. The child from age 3 to 6 is a sensorial learner. The pre-grammar program allows children who are not ready for abstract lessons to understand academic concepts using manipulatives, music, and memorization in a Christ-centered classroom.
The students in the graduation class this year received scholarships, one of which received a prefect score on the S.A.T. Our 4 year and 7 year attend and they love it! My son was tested at 6 and his results were in the 99% of the nation and his academic level is almost two grades ahead in most subjects , he even learned french and these results came from this school.
3 days part time as little as 300.00 a month, Click the website!

That's tough. We have 5 under 6, and full-time daycare beyond 1 child, or maybe 2, would be insane!!!
Daycares are meant to handle multiple kids and have so much going on that's structured. They are fun and designed for kids, and I would choose that option if I worked but again...cost.
I never felt a nanny could keep up with my kids so close in age! Home daycare, well, really depends how good the caretakers are and the environment. One here has a giant pool in the backyard. :(
Can you find a preschool that also has daycare? Might be cheaper?
I would keep the three together. Having them in Different places will create chaos in the mornings. A babysitter that comes to your home might be cheaper if money is a concern.
