I was like that as a child. I was finally, after many years, diagnosed with hypogammaglobulinemia. Basically, my immune system was both without IgG, which meant I couldn't fight off most infections. It was a basic blood test and was treated by monthly injections for about a year. I rarely get sick now.

The doctor is genuinely the only place to get an answer for that. When my son went thru something similar it took a few months and a few specialists but we figured it out and took care of it medically.

Definitely see a doctor. Meanwhile, keep a diary of symptoms and anything odd that might be connected.
I will add though that a lot of the immune system is through the gut. My aunt was sickly as a child to the point that my grandparents and mom believed she was faking it for attention. Lo and behold, my younger daughter had the same struggle. All of the vili in her small intestines were blunted when she was finally diagnosed with a wheat intolerance. The damage impacted her immune system. We eliminated wheat from her diet and she rarely gets even a cold now. I can't help but wonder if this was what happened with my aunt. Your daughter may have undiagnosed food allergies that are stressing her immune system.

It could be hygiene.
Some kids are very handsy, they don't wash their hands, they touch things/the ground/the walls/other kids or anything, and then their mouth/face etc. And viruses live on surfaces for awhile.

Our Pediatrician said, that for kids up to about 7-8 years old, they may get sick a lot. Especially in school. Some more than others, because they are so, touchy and handsy etc. But after that age, they are less impulsive and more hygienic. And are more careful etc. Our Pediatrician, is also a specialist in Epidemiology.

Last year, my son got sick a lot. Practically every month it was something. But a different virus each time.

But just go see your Pediatrician.
Ask him/her.

She may have a food allergy, wheat intolerance, etc. Ask the doctor if you can try probiotics, I just came back from Punta Cana with a terrible intestinal issue and after my course of antibiotics I started probiotics and I have to say I feel great. I can gets bouts of Irritable bowl and this is really helping me. Also, I am trying to take gluten out of my diet, am much less bloated, less gas etc. I would have a doc do a complete workup on her, or ask if you can try the probiotics first and see if she improves. Good luck!!

I agree with Diane it could be food allergies or outdoor allergies. Take her to the dr and have them recommend an allergist for your daughter. I meant to mention before I hit the button that we just found out that my daughet is allergic to milk and eggs. She started puking with milk so I stopped giving it to her. Good luck!!

You need to have her medically evaluated. Does she go to the doctor every time she gets sick like this? Do they know her history? Has she had her blood checked? If not - do all of those things.

My niece gets sick a lot too, but she is always at the doctor and they are very close to removing her tonsils. That will clear up a lot of her issues.

My daughter complained of an upset stomach a lot around 8 as well...I took her to the doctor and she had to keep a food journal and make notes when she didn't feel well. She's fine. The doctor said it's normal at that age to have cramps, not feel well, etc. The body is going through so many changes.

The fevers would concern me. She's fighting something off. Allergies? Virus? Bacteria?

Really though, you need to have a doctor look at her.

Is there a children's hospital in your area? You need to get a team there to work with you to figure out the problem with your daughter.

So very sorry~

It sounds like she is getting a lot of viruses and intestinal bugs. I'm not sure there's anything major that a doctor is going to do since nothing is life-threatening or really treatable. I agree that most diseases start in the digestive system. In my work, we see this all the time. It's a pretty simple matter to boost her immune system. This is a good time to start, with school about to start and a whole host of germs awaiting her in the classroom, from kids in general and from those parents who send their kids to school sick! When I was teaching, we constantly saw kids throwing up at 8:30 AM with a 102 fever - and you just know that at 8:00 they had were 101 and complaining. But the key for her is that she never gets strong enough to fight off the next thing she's exposed to. There's a phenomenal children's supplement (not a pill) that is patented so it's been proven safe, effective and unique. The vast majority of people I know who strengthen the immune system just never have sick kids, and certainly not every month like your daughter. If that would be something to consider, let me know and I'll give you the info.

is she in day care? during the school year (first year of full time school for both kids..) my kids were sick from October through April. lots of germs.. just annoyingly sick.. not hospital sick. I think we had 8 visits to the dr for sicknesses this winter. I am hoping for better this year.

but our dr says... the average child gets 7 colds a year... if they are in day care or school (early grades) they get 3 times that many. if the child is prone to ear infections or lung infections (bronchitis pneumona) the cold will likely turn into something worse ...

my dauhger is a puker too. if she gets a cold she is likely to run a fever and puke. almost every time..

ask your dr if they think she has been sick enough to warrant a more testing to see if there is a bigger problem. does she get well in between the sickness?
