does anyone know if you can change the name from the birth certificate for a newborn?
I am sure you can, but expect a fee for doing it. Do a google search and I am sure you will get lots of info. You might want search for your local county info as well as info general to Texas.
Yes, you should be able to for a fee. Check with the Vital Records office.
You can change a name as long as both parents agree before age 2 I believe. After that then you have to go through the courts. We had my daughter's changed at 4. You can file a name change petition and apply for a new birth certificate and social security card.
