M.C.
We had a brunch so we had some chocolate mini donuts. We stacked them up like tires, made a sign that said "Casa Della Tires." My husband found a Guido plush and set it on the plate with the stacked "tires" all around.
I'm having a Cars themes birthday party for my son who's turning 3. I don't want to spend a lot on supplies and was wondering if y'all had any ideas to share. For party favors I'm planning on making rice crispy stop signs cookies. Will do cupcakes with the car theme and will place them on a racetrack instead of a cupcake stand. I'm getting a 6 foot sub from Walmart to feed everyone. I was trying to think of some cute names for the sandwiches, condiments and chips that I could put cute car signs with their name. I'm up for any suggestions.

I saw a picture online where one mom made dinner to go with a cars movie night. She used toothpicks to stick on cucumber slices as wheels onto the sandwiches and called them Lightening's Speedy Sandwiches. She also served grape juice and called in motor oil. My favorite was the Leaning Tower of Tires (which was chocolate covered donuts stacked up!).
Here is a link to even better ideas with great photos!

My personal favorite is the chips as Mater's Taters!
I found some checkered flag triangle banners at Dollar Tree. You could try there.
As far as supplies I would just get some basic color stuff in red and black and yellow. Target has some large packs of solid color napkins and plates for a very reasonable price! You could get red plastic cups and cut out yellow lightening bolts and tape or glue them to the side. You could also write names or numbers on them in black sharpie.
I love Kelly's suggestions, those are very cute! You could put ketchup, mustard and relish (or just pickle slices) in round bowls and place them on in a row to look like a stop light.
It might even be cute to include yellow, red and green M&Ms in the party favor bag.
Wow, everyone had some great ideas.
I'll only add a few I did for my son's Cars theme party:
-I made a race track cake (using 2 round cake pan), put them next to ea
other, frosted in brown chocolate then piped white lines for the track &
yellow dotted lines & put little signs along the way (stop signs etc) &
Matchbox cars.
-I bought a car shaped pinata (not the Cars one but a lesser expensive
one).
-I cute out huge signs from poster board coloring them myself to make
stop signs, Radiator Springs, Route 66 etc & hung them up around the
room.
-I bought the Car themed plates at Walmart then added plain blue, red &
yellow napkin & cups to go along w/it to save money.
-You make "race car" shirts w/a number on the back & put them over the
backs of your kitchen chairs or folding chairs where the kids will sit.
-I added a few balloons in all of the colors (blue, red, yellow, green) to
make it more festive. Added a few solid colored streamers.
-You could make a tow yard in your backyard. Just use your imagination
w/items you can turn into tires, tail pipes etc.
Gotta love Pinterest!
I especially like the idea of serving a stack of chocolate donuts as spare tires.

I'm not crafty enough to think of any ideas for you, but I know the Dollar stores have tons of Cars themed stuff there. Good luck!
Do you have wood floors or a space where you can make "roads" with masking tape? Cheap, fun game.
