Hello Ladies,

Do you mind sharing your tips and tricks of the trade of being a mom on the go. For example, my son likes to take off his shoes after I put them on, and when I am ready to go, I have to find them all over again. So the trick I use is to put them on in the car. Another one is to dress in more than one shirts, so that when the top one gets messed up, I pull that off and he has a new one ready to go. Stuff like that that you have found to make your life easier. Thanks.

I keep a "go bag" in the car that is perpetually stocked with snacks, bottled water, matchbox cars, crayons and stickers. If we are running errands stop for a bite to eat... stuff to do!

When he was young, I always kept his diaper bag stocked and ready to go.

Lunches packed the night before- work and school bags packed and in the car the night before.

Lay out his clothes the night before so that we are ready to go in the morning.

Nothing overly exciting, but I do as much as I can at night b/c at 5:30 in the morning everything takes twice as long!

Keep a diaper bag in the car at all times.
Filled with diapers, wipes, toys, snacks etc

That way if you forget your main bag you always have a back up.

Get a baby carrier like the baby bjorn ones. Free hands are awesome

For boys, always keep an action figure on hand. It's a great distracting device.

Keep a small package of diaper wipes in your purse, and maybe an extra diaper. My son is a toddler, so I always keep a full container of whole wheat crackers or Cheerios in my purse at all times, for snacking in the store. I keep a pen, crayons, & notepad in my purse--can be use for doodling distraction in an store or restaurant. For the shoes, we both lacing shoes (instead of velcro), and double-knot them. As of now, he can't get them off.

Interesting thread--I look forward to reading other responses!

I do crib sheets like you do t-shirts, layered so if there's an accident during the night I can peel the top one off (water-proof pad in between) and have a clean one already on the bed. I also take my own special loot of toys and books to the doctor's office to keep toddler from playing with the germ- infested ones they supply.
