Car Seats - Charlotte, NC

I have an 8 month old son who is still using his Graco Infant Carrier Car Seat but I would like to go ahead and look into buying a car seat that will grow with him. He still fits in his seat and is well under 20 pounds so I am not in a big hurry, but I want to start thinking about it anyway.

Does anyone have suggestions about car seats that you used? I would like him to be a little more comfortable in his next seat if possible because the current one makes his head bob forward if he falls asleep on a long trip. That might be inevitable but I would like one that reclines a little better if possible.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Just a thought... for now if you roll up a smallish towel and put it under the carseat BASE when you latch it in with a seat belt (near the back of the seat) it should still work appropriately and your son's head won't bob when napping. Don't make it too thick, but a little elevation usually does the trick.

My daughter is still very young, but when I was registering for her shower, my brothers both encouraged me to get the Brittax Marathon car seat. It can be rear and front facing, and it holds a child who is up to 50 or 60 pounds. My one sister-in-law had bought the round about version of the Brittax as a spare, and told me it was much smaller than the marathon. It is a little on the expensive side (around $270 or so) but I am told it is worth it.

I did a bunch of research before I recently bought my daughter a convertible seat. She's tiny so she couldn't switch until about 15 months, but I love the Evenflow Triumph that we bought her. It has an equivalent safety rating to the more expensive Britax version. From everything I read, it has the top safety rating and the price was decent. I love it, and it's very comfy and easy to get her in and out of it. You can use it rear facing and forward facing and it goes up to 50 lbs.

Britax....there expensive, but well worth the money and the safety. It saved our little girl when we were in a terrible car accident when she was 10 weeks old. Look around to find the best price, but they are absolutely wonderful!

invest in a Britax. Costco has them now and Ebay has them. Worth the $$ and very durable and safe. I've used mine through 2 children. Check online ads too!!

we have a Britaxx and it got some of the best overall ratings across the board. they run a little high as far a price but your little on is worth it! Our son loves his we have the Decathlon and we couldnt be happier with it.

I love my Eddie Bauer carseat and it can also be used as an infant seat rear facing if you'd like to change him now. It holds up to a 100 lb. child- so it obviously grows with them and it also has a reclining feature! I included a link so you can take a look at it: http://www.babyage.com/products/22-756lrs_eddie_bauer_edd...
