Try your local fire department! I live in Arvada and I always always go to my fire department........ they check them and install them correctly if needed.
Good luck
Hi - I have been searching for awhile now with no luck... so I thought I would ask here. Anyone know of a place I can get acar seat check IN DENVER? I live near Wash Park, but anyplace is fine - I will drive. I looked on the website and everyplace I followed up on is closed, no longer does it, or only does it for their customer. Rose hospital did our initial check, but now they won't check a new car seat for us. Thanks!!

I've been told that you can go to the fire houses and have the car seat install done. Haven't had to do this myself as my child is much older but might be worth calling the fire department to check. Or, since you live in Denver county, call 311 (Denver City & County Info hotline) and ask if they know an agency/location that does the car seat checks.
These ladies are right. Your local firehouse will have a couple of firefighters who have been trained on car seat safe installations. And lucky for you there's one right at the Park :). I live in JeffCo and West Metro Fire had information about their car seat checks online - they ask you to call and make an appointment. Check Denver FD online and if you don't see anything there, call your local firehouse.
Hi M.- call your local fire station first to see if they have any carcheck clinics coming up or you can set an appt. Try to not just drop in.
Also check with your pediatrician - mine keeps a list of upcoming clinic dates.
Basically what they do is to teach you how to install the car seat. The Latch system was required started in 2002 so your installation will be different depending on the model year of your car.
I went to a clinic when we switched to forward facing.
The basics to my belt installation was to make sure the seat was free of any hairline cracks or stress fractures, make sure the car seat was installed on the seat at a proper angle (mine has a level indicator). We threaded the belt and the fireman taught me to lean on it with all my weight to get the tightest possible belt. Then you pull the belt all the way out until it clicks and then reel it back in until its tight and it locks.
On the seat itself, check for cracks and stress fractures on the plastic. The straps should be installed in the holes that are at or just above your child's shoulders, not below. When belting, you should tighten the straps until you can comfortably slip two fingers under the belt. You should have a 5-point harness system and the seat should be rear-facing at your daughters age. The rule has been 12 mos or 20 pounds but the fireman I spoke to recommended they travel rear facing for longer.
Hope that helps you until you can find a carseat clinic!
We always go to the fire station on S. Broadway in Littleton. They are very good there and very kind. The one in downtown Littleton is also very good, just really busy. I'm sure any near you would do it. They could at least tell you where to go for it.
Everyone is right -- Firestations. However, I recommend that you call first because not all locations do them. I had to go to three in the Centennial area before I was finally told the correct location to go to. I also had to go during certain hours. Hope that saves you some time and frustration.
Fire and police dept. Should have someone who will do it for you.
We were told that any fire or police station will give you a car seat check for free. Call your local precincts to see if there is a specific time or if you can just drop by. Good luck!
I don't think the police stations do but I do know that any firestation will check your care seat for you.
I heard you can drive up to any firehouse and they will check it for you.
Check it out.
swedish hospital was doing them in january when we had a new baby. We had all of ours checked then. I think they're still doing it. check'em out.
M.: you can go to any of your local fire stations. They will do the check quickly and easily.
