I recommend the Britax, but always keep him rear facing for a MINIMUM of one year, and it is now recommended to keep kids rear facing for as long as they are within the weight that the seat will hold. Even if they have to sit with bent legs, I have been told by the Fire Dept that does installs that it is FAR better to have a leg injury than to withstand a head/neck/spinal injury that is seen more often with children facing forward before 30-40+ pounds. I would alos go with the one with the highest weight limit that you can afford...Marathons are more expensive than the Roundabout but go to a higher weight. I would definately look all over the web for discontinued fabrics, they always sell for quite a bit less. You ca also look for one of the '15% off any item' coupons with Babies R Us, it would save you about $40. I bought by Marathons at BRU during sales and discounts, but bought our new infant Companion with side impact protection online at BRU.com for a better price with free shipping. I have also heard that there is another brand carseat that sells for less that is actually a Britax, only manufactured under another brand name....can't remember what the name is, but they were alot less $..... The running stroller in Palm Harbor area sells them too and will give you 10% off if you are a local pickup...
