Hello, so this Saturday is my girls party (not twins just 13 months apart, and easier this way) so we have rented a pavilion and we had a bouncy castle coming, but I canceled it. I was going to end up spending 65 extra dollars for a generator, and there is a big park right there, so I'll use the money for more food and my pocket. So I already bought a pin the tail on the donkey, and sack races game. I have a volley ball set for adults. And a piñata, plus the playground at the park. But I need some suggestions for some other games. I like to have fun parties, we will have plenty of food, cake, candy, and prizes for the winners. What do y'all think. Maybe a 3 legged race, but I'm stumped. We usually go to chuck e cheese and don't have to plan activities but they wanted something different this year. My kids are 3 and 4. The other kids will range from 1- 8. I don't know what the babies can do. There will be at least two 1yo there. Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everybody, my kids are having a princess theme, so that's why we don't have any fall stuff. But maybe next year, I would like to do a Halloween theme. But I Ike the ideas. Especially the one about the banner, and having everyone sign and color on it. Also good game ideas.. I couldn't think or remember hAlf of those games. I do have a couple of bubble machines, I just have to get some bubbles now. And I think I might do something like an obstical course. I also like the small pumpkin ideas... So much to do.. I better decide quick.

Let's see... where are you? Dallas? Yes still warm enough for a water balloon toss, or egg toss (boiled eggs, please). You could also do a balloon pop game (there are tags inside the balloons--some say "WIN"). Spoon balance game--hold a plastic spoon in their mouth, balancing a ball (ping-pong) or boiled egg on the end--have to go a certain distance or through/over obstacles. Pass the ball/orange (put the ball under their chin, they have to pass it down the line. For the most part, the kids will probably be thrilled to just be at the park!

I see you are in my area, there is dental office that for free of charge, yes, FREE, they will bring a bounce house out to your party. Let me see if I can find that info again and I'll get back to you......

EDIT: I found the info: www.thedentistofallen.com. It's Drs. Bishop, Kim & Liescheski. Apparently you call and make a reservation and it's complimentary.

One year olds love to "paint". If there is a building with brick or even a wood table, get some inexpensive foam paint brushes and a paper cup with a little water in it. When they "paint" with the water the brick or wood will change color or darken and they think they are painting! There are lots of books at the library about homemade birthday parties. May you have lots of years of fun, away from the empty "fast-food" parties and stay on the path of the ever chaotic, but refreshing realism of homemade parties!

Have a crawling race for the babies, that's always cute. babies at one end, parents on the other.

For the other kids it actually sounds as if you have enough games along with the pinata given the ages. Why not do a craft or two, something along a "Fall" theme? Michael's has foam pumpkins they could make Jack-o-lantern faces on, and foam doorknob hangers they can decorate, etc.

Have fun!!

Water balloon tosses are also fun. Horseshoe throw, play hot potato or freeze tag. For the younger kids, they can play simple games like simon says, duck duck goose, red light green light...

better yet, do a fun fall craft. Tons of kits at the local craft stores.

Not sure what it's called, but walking with the egg on the spoon game?!? Just use plastic Easter eggs.
If you have a big box, cut a hole big enough for a hand to go through it, place different things in the box without the kids knowing and see if they can guess what the object is.

A scavenger hunt....either a list of things they have to find and bring back or snap a photo of, or clues that lead them to another clue, that leads to another clue etc....and at the end have some kind of reward/ favor....a basket of bubbles, wands , crowns or something. We did this for my daughter's fairy themed party. In the end, they wound back at the cake table, where we sang happy birthday, cut the cake and I passed out gossamer bags with a few mini chocolates w/custom wrappers, a few good luck fairy coins/tokens and an itty bitty bottle of "fairy dust". (bottles curtesy of eBay, fairy dust = irridescent glitter, I hot glued the corks in place so no messes at home!)

What about just having lots of bubbles and trays/wands? Also, you can do a craft table with foam figures to make signs, door hangers, etc. They have kits at Joann's, Michaels, Target. etc. It sounds like you already have a great itinerary though. Make sure to allow some time for YOU to enjoy your guests, eat something, and celebrate, Mama!

Does anyone you know have tailgate toss (also called corn hole if you are from the Ohio area)? It's basically a bean bag toss game.

You could do a scavenger hunt and hide things around the party area and let the parents help kids hunt for them.

We got a giant piece of butcher paper and a bunch of art supplies, like markers, crayons, and finger paints and wrote "Happy Birthday, J) right in the middle. Then we let the kids do their own art work on it. When the party was over, we hung it up in my son's room so he could remember his party and see all the well wishes.

Mother May I, Red Light/Green Light, Red Rover,

If I think of others I'll add.

Pumpkin bowling! Easy. Cheap. And kids love it! Especially that age. You need one sort of round pumpkin. And at least six filled water bottles. You can decorate the outside of the bottles with any design theme you want.

Buy some of the small mini-pumpkins, markers, stickers, and let the kids each decorate a mini-pumpkin.... cute favor for the kids to take home, also.

Instead of buying a pin the tail on the donkey, I would have done something "fall" or Halloween theme..... a big orange jack-o-lantern on a poster, and let the kids each stick on a triangle for eyes, nose, and parts of the mouth....

Turn the kids into mummies! Divide the children into 3 or so groups - get a few rolls of toilet paper & let them wrap one person in each group into a mummy. Finish them off w/a hat & some sunglasses. We've done this at my daughter's parties at home & school every year - the kids love it!

A radio and a potato. Hot potato. Music stops, whoever has the potato moves back out of the circle. Went over huge at my boys' parties when they were younger.
