My dad is 82 and has a kidney function of 25, normally your kidney function is between 80 and 125.My dads doctor (kidney specialist) said that in 6 years he would be on diayalis
and i want to know if there is anything like herbs to bring the function up a little so that he won;t need dialysis. He is very active and can be a smart-ass at times and a kick to be around. Saw a few pills on the web, but not sure if they work.
Does anybody know of any herbs that could improve this condition , i have a couple of ideas, and who knows if he'll make it 6 years, but i am going to try to help him, all i can and i have proven the doctors wrong before i might do it again. L.

What can I do next?

I don't know about herbs but I would personally try chiropractic and acupuncture, you'd be surprised how much those can help! And like everyone else has said, check with a naturopath too.best of luck, you're great for helping take care of him!!

I believe it can but I'm not sure. The people at ALL ABOUT HERBS can answer your questions and give you cleansers that will flush the body of toxins, etc. My brother is on dialysis and had to have open heart surgery and went partially blind/depressed and he's only 30 yrs. old. I think it's awesome to be preventative!!! Besides healthy foods and meds/herbs try and make him laugh and think positive and say Thanks to the universe for helping you all through this. Good luck to you and sorry I don't know your answer.

I'm not sure about that, I think that at 82, its sort of the body just being worn out. Might try taking him to a natural path, and see what they say. I think that there is a lot of value in alternative medicines. As long as it doesn't contra-indicate his current meds. I'd be very hesitant to buy a pill of the internet, if I wasn't sure it wouldn't do more harm than good.

Good luck, how blessed he is to have a daughter that clearly cares about her dad's quality of life!

I would take him to see a naturpathic doctor they would be best qualified to help. He also would likely get better by seeing a chiropractor and body worker.

I'm not sure about herbs but like the two other responses I would take your dad to a naturopath/homeopath. I've had problems in the past where an allopath could not solve but it was solved by a homeopath.
