Can I Wash My Kids Beanbag Chairs in My Washer

My kids have a couple beanbag chairs with the polystyrene beads in them (there is no cover on the outside of the beanbag - so no cover to take off and wash) - anyone know if I can throw the whole thing in my frontload washing machine ?? And then how do I dry it? They're getting kind of stinky (the chairs - not the kids) :-)

What can I do next?

You'd probably just get a serious mold/mildew problem, which is less healthy than "kind of stinky." Can you wait until you have a sunny, and ideally breezy, day? Put them in the sun, suspended if possible so air can surround them. Turn them every couple of hours. That might do a good job of freshening them.

Don't do it. I can just imagine the mess if it opens up in the process.

Can you use lysol spray that's safe on toys? (I don't know lysols instructions though regarding fabrics). Then as the other mom said, put them out on a breezy sunny day.

I would not put that in my wahser for fear that something would happen and all those beads get into my plumbing system.

However, just a thought..... 3 yrs ago I bought a beautiful Coach tote purse in WHITE. I always wondered how I'd keep it clean. Well, I pulled it out for this year and I just told hubby it is too nasty looking to use.

I was going to put it in the wash...what's to lose, right?
Before I was going to do that, I talked to my dry cleaner and was told $45 to Start cleaning and price goes up. Well, I only paid $140 for it and I was not going to pay $100 to clean it.
So, I went to the coach outlet, they said wet wipes which I laughed because that's what I've done.

Now, my point, before I put it in the washer, hubby asked to try to clean it with the hose attachment on our Bissell carpet cleaner for the steps and upholstery. I put a little of my HE detergent and a little clorox for the solution.

It LOOKS BRAND NEW. While it was wet, I put in in the direct sun.

Just an oddball idea that might work for you...
