I have never heard that it can contribute to miscarriage but I also used clomid to get pregnant and then miscarried. I also had a miscarriage without using clomid. I would talk to your doc and see what he thinks.
I had a miscarriage from a natural pregnancy in October of 2009. After that miscarriage my cycles were all screwed up. I then started Clomid and got pregnant the 3rd round. I miscarried at around 6 weeks. I then got pregnant using clomid again but miscarried the day before Christmas Eve. This has been absolutely devastating. We have been grateful for the clomid in helping us get pregnant, but I am concerned it's contributing to miscarriage. I hear it thins the lining of the uterus. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the comments so far. I have gotten a lot of my hormone levels checked. My HCG and Progesterone were in normal range with this last pregnancy. I will be more aggressive with the next with testing more often to make sure they stay level. We have been seeing a fertility doctor. My husband also has issues and we are paying quite a bit for his meds which sucks when I keep losing the babies. In response to the first comment, I avoid all those things. I exercise 6 days a week and consider myself healthy. However, I do think I will start taking vitamin D3. Thanks for the info! My husband thinks that I might be exercising too hard, but I don't think that is it. I sure hope not.

I was able to get pregnant but never was able to keep them beyond 6 weeks. I was then put on Clomid but after a couple weeks, I felt like I was going crazy. What did help me to maintain my pregnancies, DS is 6 1/2 and DH is 4, were the progesterone suppositories twice a day. Good luck to you.
have you gone to a doctor that will test ALL of your hormone levels, and check for the free/unbound as well. You need to know what Progesterone is doing as well as the Estrogen and there are three types of Estrogen. My guess is that you are low in Progesterone. I would stop with the Clomid and work on getting my body into the best shape possible, from the inside out.
No high fructose corn syrup
No sushi, flu shots, tuna
No diet sodas or any artificial sweeteners unless it is Stevia
Taking Omega 3's, Vitamin D3 (2,000 mg a day), antioxidants
I know it can be so upsetting and just devastating but you can control over how your body can be in a better way for when you do conceive. Good luck:o)
Might be a progesterone imbalance. If your doc wont prescribe it you can buy progesterone creams over the counter. Use it from the time you ovulate until a couple months into any pregnancy you achieve.
Best of luck!
