Can Anyone Recommend a Really Good Bouncer?

I did daycare for years, and I loved the Johnny Jumpers that hang in a doorway, and so did my babies.

I read that the baby's legs and hips don't develop correctly if you put them in a bouncer or exersaucer for more than 20min a couple of times a day. It has to do with the width between the baby's legs. I picked my saucer and bouncer by measuring the width and buying the ones with the shortest space between the legs. I can't remember the brand of boucer but I got it @ Target and it has a red seat. Good luck!!

Fisher Price Aquarium Bouncer... the one with the swimming fish. All 3 of my kids LOVED this chair. It was comfortable as a newborn and as they grew they loved watching the fish and lights and listening to the music. They also liked that they could touch the toys and being rewarded with noise and movement in the play mode. It also has a vibration mode. They were able to use it for quite a long time, unlike many of those papasan type chairs.

FYI: if you do choos to use johnny jumpers (which I had for my oldest) use a very WIDE doorway or the newer ones that have a freestanding frame.

I loved my fisher price precious planet. I agree fully with Michelle B that it wasn't over stimulating, and very sturdy. It was easy to move if you are holding the baby because it has it's support beam things up high so you don't have bend over. Which is nice. I don't however like how it only went to 25lbs. My son grew fast (like all babies) and by 5 months was at the 25lbs. But since it was still so new, I sold it to my friend who's son was ready for a jumper. Yay!

I got my son the Fisher Price Precious Planet bouncer. He has always loved it!! It's fairly simple, but very sturdy and not overstimulating. Even at 14 months, he still climbs into and curls up for a nap or to read a book pretty often. And he's BIG!! He's very attached to it. The cover is detachable for washing, too. I haven't seen them new in stores, but frequently see them at consignment stores.
I have also heard and read really great things about the Fisher-Price Newborn Rock & Play Sleeper.

I love our Fisher Price Laugh and Learn bouncer. My son is 6 months and still loves to sit in it and watch the lights and the doggie. I recommend one that does something like lights or water feature or something, definitely keeps them entertained. It also has the hanging toys so when they are old enough to reach and get them they can do that too.

We have LOVED the Fisher Price Rain Forest bouncer. It's lasted through 3 kids now and is still going strong (with new batteries of course). Whatever you decide to get, make sure it's got lights and sounds and things hanging down for them to pull/kick. Also, check out consignment or second hand stores, as you can find lots of bouncers for like half off (if cost is an issue). In our area we have Once Upon A Child, which is incredibly picky about the things they buy from parents, so you know it'll be pretty clean when you get it.
