Hi, I have a friend who is a DJ, he is awesome, does a great professional job and is reasonable. You can contact me if you are interested in his info!
My fiance and I are getting married on Sept 20, 2008 and we cant find a good DJ. Can anyone recomended a good DJ (from some company)? We are looking for a DJ that is in a REASONABLE price range. Has anyone seen or did cupcakes for their wedding instead of a tradional wedding cake? How did it turn out and where did you go? MY last question is.... Has anyone done silk flowers for their wedding party and a real bouquet for the bride? I was thinking of doing it this way but dont know if that would be a bad idea... hope some of you can help me?

Hi K.
Last summer my best friend got married and she had a GREAT DJ! He was through a company called Complete Music. Their prices are pretty resonable and they have a lot of fun. I used them when I got married as well. The hitch for her was that she got to have DJ Sammy C. He was a friend of ours from high school and he is great! Here's the web link. http://www.mn.cmusic.com/ I would really recommend them.
As to the flowers. She sort of went back and forth about the silk flower arangements as well. In the end she decided to only use silk flowers on the tables and cake, but it did save her quite a bit of money. There's just nothing like the real thing. All of her arrangemtns used those big gerber dasies which are pretty cheap and look really good. So there's another idea for you.
And to your last question about the cup cakes. I have seen this done before. The great thing about it is that you can have such a variety of flavors and you can stack them up just like a regular wedding cake. I've also seen this done with Krispy Kream donuts. That was very funny, but everyone loved it.
I hope that you have a great wedding day, and happy planning. Don't forget that in the end the wedding is about you and your new hubby being happy, not all of the people you invite. So do what you are comfortable with and what is going to keep you happy and as stress free as possible.
Best wishes!

I used silk flowers because I made all my own bouquets. I had ivory roses, so they stayeed true to color rather than turning brown like the real ones would have. It looked great and got lots of completements. I got them all from Michaels and all the supplies to make them into bouquest there also. As for a DJ, call Jeff Richards at Partytime Productions. I think that's the name...??? He's great! I had a cake though, so can't help you there. We had a small 2 tier cake though and we used candles and blown up b/w pictures of us frome when we were little to dress up the table with our wimpy little cake! Then we did sheet cakes for the rest.
Congratulations on the wedding :)!!!!
I used silk flowers for myself as well as the entire wedding. I preferred it becuase the flowers looked just as pretty from the first picture to tear down of decorations....it was wonderful! I reccommend the use of silk flowers. We found all our from Michaels. ( I baught them on sale over the course of 2 summers while my husband was in Iraq) the price is very reasonable and they looked wonderful.
As for a DJ please please please stay away from The Music Box. He is a DJ from Hastings MN and he was awful. He did not play any of the music we asked and he was so rude leaving his booth (before he played any music) got a plate of food and sat down with my guests! it was an awful expereince.d
i wish you all the best of luck!

We used DJ Sound and Light from Hastings MN.....they were awesome!
I used silk flowers for everything since I didn't feel like spending a lot on flowers that were going to die....and no one cared and I still have my boquet six years later :)
And I got 10 different cakes from cafe latte in St. Paul that were all different for around $200 and all my guests RAVED about it!! They all said it was better than wedding cake and that everyone could have what they wanted...from a fruit tarte to chocolate turtle cake :)
One of my friends from college just got married. They used a company called "the scene" The were very reasnably priced. Also the broke tradition and instead of having a wedding cake she had a table filled with chocolate and vanilla mini cheescakes. The rented a chocolate fondue machine and had big bowls of the different fruit toppings that are normally served with a cheese cake.
