Cake Mix Cookies

I need to bake some cookies for my neighborhood Fall Festival - I would like to make cake mix cookies to avoid a trip to the grocery store. I have a white cake mix and a butter chocolate cake mix in my pantry. Has anyone used either of these to make cake mix cookies, and if so, what did you add to make them? I have seen recipes on-line but most of them involved the use of a German chocolate cake mix so I'm uncertain about whether a regular chocolate cake mix would work out well. Thank you.

What can I do next?

I make these cookies all the time. They are a real hit with the neighbors! Any cake mix is fine. I usually use the white cake mix. Chocolate cake mix is good too.

1 box cake mix
1/4 cup oil
2 eggs

Mix together well. I sometimes will even put maybe a teaspoon of almond extract. Spoon into balls and then roll in sugar. Put in the oven at 350 and bake about 8-9 mins.

You can always add chocolate chips or nuts or anything you want. I've never tried actually putting it in the mix. I've always just added a few chips or a sliver of almond right on top before putting it in the oven. Really good cookies! Enjoy! T.

Here's a recipe I tasted recently. It was made with white cake mix and butterscotch chips and it was amazing! I'm dying to try it with Treasures chocolates in the middle. My friend said it works with any combination of cake mixes and chips. Enjoy!

Title: Cake Cookies

Ingredients:
1 box cake mix (any kind)
2 eggs
1/3 oil
Optional (chips: chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, Rollos, treasure caramel candies)

Directions:
Mix cake mix, eggs, 1/3 oil, and chips. Bake 350 for 10 minutes. Spoon desired size onto pan.
Small ones are great because this is a sweet cookie.

You can put a Rollo or Treasure caramel candy in the center and roll cookie dough around the cookie for a great treat.

If you want to do shapes you can use a rolling pin to flatten out dough, cook, and then use cookie cutters to make shapes.

Number Of Servings:24
Preparation Time:5 min.

I have 2 very simple recipies.

Cookie Cake
1 box cake mix (any kind)
1 egg
1 stick softened butter
1 tbsp vanilla
Chocolate chips or m&m's or pecans
If you use chocolate cake - peanut butter chips are good

Mix egg, vanilla and butter first
Add in cake mix a little at a time (easier to mix)
Add in chocolate chips, m&ms or pecans

Grease/Spray 9x13 pan
Press mix into pan (it will be thin in the pan)
Bake at 350 for about 17 minutes (will still be light on the top when it is finished cooking)

Cut into squares when cool.

The next makes very soft, puffy cookies
1 box cake mix (with pudding in the mix)
1/2 cup water
2 eggs

Mix together in mixing bowl
Grease pan
Scoop 1 tsp portions onto pan
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes

The chocolate cake mix you have should work just fine. The recipe I have used and had many other give to me is really easy. It is
1/3 c oil
2 eggs
1 cake mix
Bake 350 for about 8 minutes. And that is it. You can add anything really to the cake mixes. M&Ms, chopped up candy bars, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, crushed andes mints in the chocolate would be good too, really any chocolate candy crushed up would work. Spice cake mix with white chocolate chips is really good if you were out at the store next time.

I have a recipe that could use your chocolate 1 egg, 1 box mix and 2 cups cool whip. Dough will be very doughy, drop into powdered sugar, coat well. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake till set at 350-375 for 10-12 minutes really the best ones are for lemon cake mix

Hi. These are the only kind of cookies I make ever since I discovered the recepie. It's simple and quick!!! My favorite is the chocolate with white chocolate chips!!! I have never used a German chocolate cake mix only the the regular one but it works with any of them. The moist cake mixes are supposed to work better. All you add are 2 eggs, half a stick of butter, and 2 tablespoons water if your using a chocolate mix or if you find the batter too thick. Then you add in chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, m&ms, nuts or whatever else you want. Bake them at 350 for 9-12 minutes and Walla, yummy cookies in less than 20 minutes!!! Hope this helps ;)

On the side of my cake mix it has a recipe for cookies. It's the funfetti cake mix but I would think it would work with any cake mix.

1 box cake mix
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs

Mix it all together. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; place 2 in apart on ungreased cookie sheet. flatten to 1/4 inch thickness.

Bake at 375 for 6-8 min. Cool for 1 min and remove. Then you can frost them if you want. Says it should make about 3 dozen cookies.

You can use any cake mix for those cookies. The boxes are formulated very similarly. I guess I might avoid using the one that requires butter, though, just in case the different fat would cause the cookies to set differently. Though if I had to guess, I would say the butter one would probably work okay, too.
