We have bought non-perishables on amazon. Not all of it is in bulk. It depends on what you buy. I only buy things that I can't get locally or that is an exceptional deal.

I order alot of GF flours and mixes thru Amazon and have been very pleased. I always compare store prices first though to make sure I'm getting a good deal. Make sure you have extra storage room and some things I end up refrigerating immediately (flours in the summer months). I have a Prime subscription so shipping is free. I had to do the math first to make sure I wouldn't be wasting my money (I think it was about $79 per yr). Sometimes there will be great sales on stuff however they may be close to the expiration date--which isn't always bad. I had some cake mix a few weeks away from expiring so I just froze the mixes and they still tasted fine 6 months later when I used them.

I order my baby's cereal through Amazon. I pay there for a six-pack what I've paid for a single in the store.

does baby food count? we bought all our earth's best, happy baby, sprout, etc food through amazon mom, using the subscribe and save. It was as cheap, if not cheaper than buying at the store. plus for us in NYC, getting a car, going to the shop, finding parking, finding parking near the apt, and hauling that amount of groceries is a real challenge. I'd rather UPS or FedEx do the heavy lifting and our building's porters bring it up to us.

I am sure that there are a number of non perishables for adults which would also make sense to buy via Amazon.

Good luck to you and yours,
F. B.

I have bought flavored tea bags, my hubby granola bites in the bags (our locals stores stoppe dcarrying them and this is his breakfast on the way to work each day), also many seasoning & marinade mixes. Many I do are on the Subscribe and Save dealy-o, so I get that extra % off and free shipping on most of them.

With hubbys granola things its great. I ahve it set up to automatically deliver 25 bags every 4 weeks. It charges our bank card and they just show up to refill the pantry.(4 weeks worth plus sometimes he works a saturday and also grabs them for a weekend to-go snack when hes out running errands, or dd will cruble some on her yogurt..so we like to have extras in case). I am always looking on there for other items we use that would be free shipping.

I've bought dry foods (cereals, mixes) and they have been fine. The stuff I buy are much cheaper thru amazon than they are in store.

I've purchased several food items on Amazon.com and have only had an issue with one item. They were cookies without preservatives and needed to be consumed within 3 to 4 weeks of packaging.

I've compared prices with amazon and other stores and online sites and it seems most of the time, things are cheaper on amazon. If you get something and it is bad, contact their customer service dept. They are fair about giving refunds and I love the convenience of reading reviews and having things scheduled to be delivered on a regular basis. Check out the items available for a subscribe and save discount.

I always buy from the cheapest source. I don't check amazon for deals on food because I know anything I get from amazon has to be shipped via UPS or FedEx and they are always more expensive than the huge semi's that bring food to the grocery stores.

But seeing some of the responses below, I'll have to look.

I have some friends that order their meat from mailorder meat suppliers and they are always bragging about how good their food tastes and how good a deal they get. I took the price they paid for the amount of food they received and when they found out they were paying $32 per pound for filet mignon, $28 per pound for ribeyes, $24 per pound for T-bones, and $16 per pound for hamburger, they first said, "See, I told you it was a good deal." Then when found out what the local stores sold those meats for they only commented on how good it tasted. All I can say about that is P.T. Barnum was right.

Good luck to you and yours.
