If you have sugar cookies/sugar cookie dough, you could make fruit pizza. Use the sugar cookie as the bottom. Mix cream cheese with sugar and spread on and then top with favorite fruits. This is always a huge hit!
Im in need of ideas for what to bring to a get together at 10 am tomorrow! I was gonna do some sugar cookies but is that too sweet for that early? I dont know, I need help!

Get a nice wheel of brie 14oz, or two, and a jar of apricot preserves, plain sliced almonds- and a box of entertaining crackers.
if you have a shallow serving bowl, use that for the brie/preserves-
Slice the top layer of wheel wax off-
spoon preserves on top-
sprinkle over with almond slices-
microwave 1.5-2 minutes
Voila! Fancy digs that almost every lady LOVES =D
OR something else super scrumptious-
note to only use as much banana as called for no more. When I have more I just increase the recipe.
OH! AND ONLY USE HALF of the topping called for. The full amount is just way way too much.
Farmgirl's Mexican Monkey Cake
Makes One 8-Inch Square Cake
1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
2/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup (1 stick/4 ounces) butter, softened (or 1/2 cup trans-fat free margarine, such as Earth Balance)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1-1/4 cups mashed, very ripe bananas (they cannot be too ripe)
2 Tablespoons yogurt or sour cream
1 Tablespoon milk
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Heat oven to 350 degrees (325 if using a glass pan such as Pyrex). Grease an 8"x8"x2" baking pan. In a small bowl, combine chocolate chips, brown sugar, walnuts (if desired), and cinnamon; set aside.
In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and egg with an electric mixer until fluffy (I use a hand held mixer). Add bananas, yogurt, and milk, and mix well. On low speed, beat in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt just until blended.
Spread slightly more than half of the batter in the pan. Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon streusel. Carefully spread the remaining batter over the streusel and then top with the rest of the streusel. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, about 40 to 50 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Google a recipe for Monkey Bread. It is biscuits dipped in cinnamon and brown sugar and then baked in a bunt pan. It tastes like tiny bites of cinnamon rolls from cinnabon. It is awesome, I make it all the time for brunch and everyone goes crazy for it.
This is so easy and wonderful.
3 packages of cresent dinner role dough (Kroger or Pillsbury)
1 stick butter room temperature
1 pkg. ham deli meat or turkey deli meat(chopped)
Fresh parsley(2-3 Tabl. chopped)
8 oz. cream cheese(softened)
Unroll dough and separate the crescents.
Mix the rest of ingredients in a bowl and put about 1 Tabl. into center of roll. Roll up and seal all edges like a ball and place on cookie sheet or baking pan. Bake like it says on side of rolls. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!
You can't go wrong with fresh fruit!
How about..
mini bagels with cream cheese
a fruit platter or fruit salad
quiche
homemade muffins
croissants
coffee cake (preferably homemade, but store bought is fine)
Just a couple of quick ideas fresh fruit, quiche is good hot or cold, a breakfast casserole, bagels and a couple of different types of cream cheese. It sounds like several people are bringing food, so the sugar cookies would probably be fine and people will eat them as a dessert and some will have already had breakfast probably. Have fun!
I use allrecipes.com when I need a recipe last minute. I would suggest coffee cake, banana bread, zucchini bread, some type of muffin, and maybe some fruit. I've got a lot of recipes that I could send you if you like any of those ideas.
I would try something simple, we like to get some toasted begals and cream cheese and put freash fruit on them.... it's a big hit with the kids too!
Didn't read your other posts. You could always bring a breakfast style casserole (I have a recipe my family loves if you'd like me to pass it along) and/or mini fruit pizzas.
i love the new orleans style bread pudding recipe in the Joy of Cooking. You can google it & get the recipe, it is easy to make and you can make lots of additions/substitutions for your taste preferences. Good luck!
-croissants
-sliced cheeses and ritz
- an egg/cheese cassarole?
