Hi moms, I am debating whether to make barbecue brisket burgers for my sons birthday. Does anyone know of a good recipe on how to prepare the brisket. This is my first time making it and it will be for a large crowd. Help Please, thanks.

What can I do next?

I have a fail-proof recipe. Remember when you're buying your brisket that it will shrink by about 40% when cooking. Give yourself plenty of time to do this slowly (there's no rushing brisket).

BEEF BRISKET

Place beef brisket in large dish to be used for marinating.

Sprinkle liberally on each side with worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, celery salt (optional). Marinate overnight (or at LEAST 12 hours)

Place in large baking dish, fat side DOWN. Slice one large onion and place over top of meat. Cover pan securely with foil.

Bake for five hours at 300 degrees (F) remove from oven, uncover and wait 1/2 hour before slicing AGAINST the grain of the meat. Serve with the juice from the pan or use barbeque sauce. Makes wonderful sandwiches or lovely slices of meat to serve a crowd.

My great aunt would buy a brisket and would put 2 onion soup mix packets on it (as it would be big enough to feed 8 -10 people). She would bake it at 200 overnight. It was really tender!! Easy!

Sandra-Lee -- semi homemade cooking show on hgtv has an awesome brisket recipe. Search for her on hgtv.com and find it -- it uses some beer as a marinade -- just fab, fab, fab!!!!

Italian Dressing! Just rub it down & soak it over night in Italian dressing & then cook the meat accordingly to the directions of weight. That's it! Delicious!! It'll come out very tender.
