It'd be less laundry for her lol. I'd pack them. Plus it's for the beach. Most people pack their own special beach towels. Me and my little one have deemed water park towels that are giant.
I am leaving for vacation middle of next week and have started a packing list. During our vacation we are going to spend a lot of time in the water; (beach, waterpark) I was going to pack 2 huge beach towels. But we are staying with a friend not at a hotel and my husband thought my friend would be insulted if I packed the towels. I didn't think it would matter because they are really huge beach towels and I would hate for her to use any of her towels. What do you think? Would you pack the towels or not?

I always bring my own towels over to a house where we are going to be swimming, not any different from vacationing at a house with a pool! Besides, do you know if she has enough beach towels for everyone? You could also bring her a few new beach towels as a gift for letting you stay at her house!
Of course! Pack them!
I would pack them. I always pack a couple of our beach towels, even when we're at a hotel.
Just pack your own.
Why not?
She may not have huge beach towels for you to use, or may not want to use her own 'favorite' personal beach towels, anyway.
Some people are picky about their beach towels.
I know, I live in Hawaii.
Just bring your own.
Id think you were a wonderful guest if you brought your own towels for the beach. I think it will save her from cringing when she sees them sloppy wet dragging in the sand, and thinking about how much work its leaving her to shake out and wash and dry, over and over.. Take em, shake em, use em, lose em. Wont matter cause they arent hers!
.
Pack 'em. Your friend won't be offended. She might suggest that you don't need to use them that you are welcome to take/use theirs...but she won't be offended.
We live close to the beach, and also have a pool. I would NOT be the LEAST bit offended if a guest brought a towel for the beach/pool. I would think it was good thinking. I would probably have "extras" that my guests could use if they wanted/needed, but would it bother me if they had brought their own?? Heck no!
I would pack them. It wouldn't bother me a bit, smart packing if you ask me. Men just don't think like us, don't listen to him :)
I always take towels no matter what. I'm a bit weird about it, but I like having my own towels! I certainly wouldn't give it a thought if someone brought their own beach towels to my house and I've always carried mine to others' homes. No one has ever seemed to notice or care.
I would pack the towels. Since your husband thinks your friend would be insulted you could call her and ask if it would help for you to bring a couple of towels.
I certainly wouldn't be insulted. It's difficult keeping enough clean towels on hand when water activities fill most of the days. I've always taken a beach towel with me when I was traveling. They're good for other things beside water. They can be a picnic or sunning blanket. They are good for keeping warm on an airplane or train. They can be an extra blanket if the ac is too cold and you don't want to wake up your host for an extra blanket. There was a time I wouldn't have had an extra blanket at my house. lol
Like everyone else... Pack them! If staying with a friend, I think it is out of courtesy on our part. If staying with family, I use theirs heehee ;)
I always pack towels when we travel. My moms towels smelled like cigarettes and others, in hotels, always seem so small. I think it makes sense to take some of your own if you want to. Or you could just plan on buying a few, I bought a bunch of really long ones, at least 60", at Walmart the other day for $3.98.
We always take our own beach towels. It seems odd not to.
Why don't you just ask your friend? We have a ton of beach towels so if someone was going to be staying with me I would tell them not to bother bringing their own . . . save the luggage space . . .
I wouldn't be insulted as the friend, but I would probably think that's one think you wouldn't have to pack. That being said, part of it is where she is located. Does she live on the beach and therefore probably HAS a ton of towels? If not, then I'd pack them.
Pack them. I realize you're staying at a friend's house but I'm sure she'd appreciate that you thought to bring your own. My experience on our vacation in June where we were staying in hotels was that the pools and work out centers were always out and we'd have to ask. GRRR! From now on I will bring my own towels even if we are staying with friends.
I have a pool, and I'd be thrilled if those who come to swim would bring their own towels!!!!
Pack them! We always take beach towels on every trip: beach, ski, visiting relatives. We use them for blankets and pillows in the car and then again when we reach out destination. I actually keep one in the car all the time, folded in the back, just in case we need it for a spill or someone needs an extra at the pool in the summer.
Yes pack them, and if you plan on driving, it's always a good idea to also include a bath rug (with the rubber backing) to lay down on the carpet of your vehicle (floor mat, trunk etc.) to save yourself the worry of getting water or sand in it & you just pull them out & give em a shake & throw them in the wash when your done. Have fun on your vacation!
I would ask.....we assumed the beach house would have towels but then found out (thankfully before we left) that they do not stock beach towels.....so we took ours. Then found some once we got there but at least we had our own......
