I was wondering if other mothers of twins out there use a boppy? If so, which one would you recommend? If not, what do you use?

Thanks!

I used the original Bobby and LOVED it. I also had the My Breast Friend and hated it, there was too much to using it when you were holding a baby. The only difference I found between the Bobbys was the cover, and you can buy the plain one and a couple of covers so that if one gets something on it you can wash it. I also had a c-section and it was very comfortable to use.

I will be having twins in a few weeks and just purchased the pillow called
EZ 2 Nurse Twins foam pillow. I purchased it on the nurturecenter.com website. They run about 50.00. I have no idea how it's going to go but it was recommended to me by another twin mom.

I do not have twins, but breastfed both of our children. Personally, I did not like the Boppy because it didn't stay close around my middle and wasn't at all helpful for proper positioning.

I would recommend My Brest Friend (that is how it is spelled) because it can be tightened around you with a strong velcro strap, and it is flatter and much firmer than the Boppy. The only bad thing was the velcro strap is noisy to open when removing it, so if the baby falls asleep nursing, slide out of it or keep it on until you lay them down.

You can buy it online or at Babies R Us. According to their website, MyBrestFriend.com, they will have a twin version available this Spring.

Look into la lache league, see if your hospital or any area hospital has a breastfeeding support group but definately line up a couple friends or family members that can be there for you for breastfeeding questions and pep-talks.

Best Wishes to you and your twins!

T.,

I have one of the larger, foam nursing pillows (like a boppy but bigger and firmer, and slants downward towards you) - intended for nursing twins. The Twin Nursing Pillow by Double Blessings - here's a link: http://www.ababy.com/itempage.asp?keyword=twin%20nursing%...

If you would like to try it out (or even borrow it), it's just sitting in my basement. I live in Troy, so I am probably close to you. I was not sucessful in my attempts to breastfeed, so it's pretty much brand new. Just send me a note.

I didnt like the boppi - couldnt get positioning right. I ended up using a pillow called 'the V" - a longer one. also, I used the car seat to rock one, as I was feeding the other. A lot of times I had to pump and feed a bottle to one while the other was nursing.

You'll work out what is best for you.

Hi T.,
I have been bfeeding my twins for almost 10 months now. Sometimes together and sometimes by themselves. When by themselves i do like the boppy, or just a square couch pillow. I tried the bfeeding pillow that is out there for twins. We actually bought it at the hospital, cause we thught it would be good, but it just did not work for us. It was too high. I actually have it and only used it once. I really just used couch pillows myself. Try a few things out and see what will work best for you and for your body size. Congratulations.

I didn't like the twin boppy. Inorder for it to work I had to sit on the edge of the couch b/c it is so long. I was really unconfortable. I just used our regular couch ppillows. And for me I found that early on it was just way to hard to nurse them both at the same time. So b/c they didn't take bottles, I nursed one and then the other. My girls are 8 months old now, and it is much easier for me to nurse them at the same time b/c they can hold themselves how they need to be. And I still just use 2 couch pillows. But you will find a way that works for you.

Good for you for breastfeeding your twins! My daughter, who did this, says it is definitely the easiest way to raise twins. Hey, you're not gonna have a bunch of free time anyway. You might as well give them the very best you can! Don't know which boppy is best, but I do recommend one. You need to get them up where your breasts are when they're still little to keep them latched on well. Are you in LaLeche League? You'd just love it, and they'd love you! Go to www.llli.org to find your local group. Ours is wonderful! We have a picnic today.
