Hi E.,

Goat's milk is closest to mother's milk than any other food. Goat's milk is a complete protein and contains every essential amino acid and it has less fat than cow's milks are formulas. Goat milk is easy to digest, even for infants. It aids in easier digestion. Almost half of people who are lactose intolerant are able to drink goat's milk.

You need good fats. Avocado, nuts, olives, and peanut butter are good fats. Eating a lot of food will not make you gain weight so indulge in LOTS of fruits and vegetables. The more nutrition you have, the more you little one gets.

Regards,

M.

PS I agree about the Almond Breeze as well.

Almond Breeze is a great alternative for you and baby!!! It has a lot of vitamin a,d and e. It is made in a peanut free facility and you can even get chocolate or vanilla!!! Another option is drinking rice milk. It is good to eat in your cereal. I can't remember if there is a vanilla flavor in that one. If you go to Trader Joe's, Fresh Markets or any health store they will have all of those... as well as Food Lion and Harris Teeter. The Almond Breeze is in a blue container in the milk secition. The Rice Milk is usually in the baking section on a low shelf. Other options for dairy are vegie mayonaise and vegie cheese... those will be at the health food stores. Those stores are going to be where you will want to go for most of your non-dairy products. They also have great snacks too!!! I hope that my suggestions and other will help you through this. My best friends daughter is allergic to milk as well. There are ways to eat healthy and it is better for you to eat healthy like you are!!! Don't forget about eating beans!! Those have a lot of proteins that are great for her too!! Good Luck E.!!!

If you have whole foods or some kind of healthy/organic grocery store they should offer pastas and breads without dairy and gluten which was a huge issue for me. There are a few websites that can teach you how to make dairy free sauces for pasta and soups can be made with broths. Store will probably have pre-made sauces for you as well. Also, cheese made from almond milk was good for melting on pizza. I could order pizza without cheese and ask them not to bake it all the way. I would great almond cheese on pizza and finish the cooking at home. Stir-frys are a good option for you. Quinoa is a good grain for you. I like to add it to soups. Rice milk is great for cereal. Especiaaly vanilla flavored. I could go on forever. Good luck!

Oatmeal for breakfast or grind it to make breads and cookies. Almond milk is good. Add nuts to smoothies. Is he allergic to goats milk? Many babies and children that are allergic to cow's milk can ingest goat's milk. Then you could eat goat cheese. Also, try cheeses made from nut milks. What about eggs? They are excellent source of omega-3 and fats. Oh! avocados- in smoothies, sandwiches, omelets, etc.great source of good, high fat!

I eat avocados every day to help my calorie intake while I am nursing. You can drizzle a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar on it to beef up the calories even more! You are doing such a great thing for your little one. Congratulations on sticking with it despite the difficulties! What a gift to your baby!

Drink fruit juices that he is not allergic to. Fruit juices will add calories and fluids to your diet. I always produced more milk for my babies when I drank juice.
