Hi I had some moments like this but after speaking to mothers/doctors/researching...I finally figured out on my own...Drink more liquids! Drink lots and lots and lots of liquid, drink drink drink triple the amount you drink now...Also as you start doing this stimulate your breasts more often, either have him feed more often or pump. I slowly started from about every 4 hours to 3:45 to 3:30...as less and less in between every feeding this way your body will have no choice but to keep up. If you do this religously for about a week (or maybe even two) you should see a big difference. If this does not work I would have to say it might be a lactating problem, but don't give up until you try first!!It worked for me!

I had this problems whe my son was first born. I had a c-section and, after some research, I found out that alot of women who don't go thru traditional labor can have this problem. DId you go thru labor? If you are like me, it just takes alot of patience and faith that, as long as your child is gaining weight, you ARE getting enopugh to the baby, you just can't see it. I was never able to pump or express any milk that I saw, but my son continued to gain weight...and like previous posts say, drink TONS of fluids and breastfeed as often as possible...Good Luck, A.

What makes you think you are only making a little? If your baby is feeding you can never truly gage how much you are making. First, how old is your baby? Is your baby making wet diapers and some poopoo ones daily? Is the baby gaining weight and growing in other ways? DON'T give up. Breastmilk is the absolute best thing you can do for your child bar none. We invest in college trustfunds but aren't we also better off investing in our children's health now and in the future? Please don't give up. Contact your local La Leche League group (you can find out where it is on the web by going to La Leche League International and looking up the group nearest you).

I am a breastfeeding mom. My daughter is 26 months old and is still breastfeeding if you want tips, emotional support or just to talk about it when it is hard you can email me at ____@____.com number one thing of all is too have the baby feed a lot. The more he feeds the more milk you will produce. Milk production is based on demand and not on what we eat or drink or how much we do of it. What we eat influences our health and the quality of our milk but not the amount that we produce. Of course, you should hydrate yourself properly but this will not make you produce more milk in and of itself. There are plenty of accounts of mothers in dire situations where they have been without food or drink for several days and they have kept there babies healthy and alive by breastfeeding them despite the lack of nutrition for themselves. Milk is produced because of the stimulation (demand) of your baby.

Good Luck and best regards,
R.

no,

go see your doctor or a lactation consultant or your pediatrician. Have someone watch you breastfeed. He still might not be latching on properly, might not be actually suckling properly, or you might not be nursing enough. There are a host of reasons for this. Don't give up
