I'm on Wellbuterin and it's been great. I started it in November when my baby was 9 months old. My friend is a La Leche League Leader and I talked to her about it and we determined it's pretty much safe and we've had no problems with it.
I have an appointment withmy doctor soon and I want him to switch me to a depression medication , so that I can breast feed. Any suggestions or feedback would help alot.

Zoloft has the most safety studies. I was on it while nursing my 4 yo, then while I was pregnant and now when I am nursing my 6 wk old. No problems at all.
BZ:
from the studies to date Zoloft appears safest but you can check what your doctor recommends with a lactation consultant.

Zoloft...I've been taking that since June 2007 and I breastfeed my daughter, she's 8 months old now. It's been very safe.
I was put on Welbutrin during the latter part of my pregnancy and the first few months following my daughter's birth.
I had pp depression with my last child pretty bad and my midwife put me on lexapro and said that would be ok to take while breastfeeding. Good luck. I know how hard this can be.

Another vote for Zoloft. Hope you feel better soon!
I've heard that Zoloft and Prozac are the only safe ones. Maybe something like St. John's Wort, too??
Good luck!
