bread is the same as muffins waffles pancakes and cereal.. it is a grain product.. so nutritionally it is almost equactly the same.
I would nto fight this battle it is a stage..
My youngest is 22 months today. She has always been easy to feed, since she likes most things we give her. But lately, I have been having a hard time getting her to eat breakfast, because there is nothing she will eat except bread. For lunch and dinner she will eat whatever I give her, but for breakfast, it is different. I thought that maybe she just isn't hungry at breakfast time, so I tried not giving her anything and she cried for bread. I am wondering if she is just going through a phase, or what. I have tried to give her waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, and muffins. She used to love all of those foods, but now she won't touch them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I have a 2 year old and 1 year old and the same issue on and off with them. When I told their doctor about it a few weeks ago, she said it's normal and to not feel like a short-order cook. If they're hungry, they'll eat. Both are fine on the weight scale so they're getting what they need.
Mine don't care for regular scrambled eggs, but love when I make them in a sandwich maker. They come out as triangles and even though I cut them up still before they even get their plate, it makes enough difference to them I guess. Maybe present the food in a different way?
What is a recent big hit here with them is no-cook overnight oatmeal:
1 Cup Large Flake Oats (or any oats that are not quick-cooking)
1 Large Container of Yogurt (2 cups) (any flavor)
3 Tablespoons Chia seeds
1 Cup Milk
2 Cups Frozen Fruit (berries, mangoes, peaches etc.)
In a large bowl, combine oats, chia seeds, yogurt and milk. Place 1/3 Cup of yogurt mixture into a mason jar (or container). Add ¼ cup frozen fruit (or to taste). Repeat layers ending with yogurt. Seal and refrigerate overnight. Will keep about 4 days in the fridge.
I don't use Chia seeds and place in small 1 oz containers for my kids. They cried when they ate all of theirs because they wanted more.
My 27 month old boy is all about a piece of bread right now too. He was more adventurous for breakfast; trying eggs, pancakes, etc, but now just wants bread. He did eat yougurt today, so who knows? I just keep offering other things. And he is constantly on the move, so he will grab a bite here and there. He is thriving, so I am not too worried, but I don't want to get stuck in the rut of offering the same thing all the time. My 10 year old is this way, and only eats a handful of familar foods all the time. Not adventurous at all.
My son is also very picky - one day he loves something, and the next he hates it. He also really likes plain bread. For breakfast he will usually eat oatmeal or pancakes or something. But I also usually give him "chocolate" milk. The chocolate is actually carnation instant breakfast. His pedi suggested it because it is full of protien and vitamins. He isn't a good eater so the instant breakfast fills in the blanks a little and he loves it.
My daughter is picky when it comes to breakfast. It is either Cheerios (and don't even try a flavor other than regular!) or a peanut butter waffle. Other than that, she is not interested. Because breakfast is so important, we buy the Cheerios and the weekend is the waffle. Maybe it is laziness too and not wanting a battle first thing in the a.m. but we go with what works. If she is doing well in the other areas, why does it matter? Her tastes will change again just as it has here too. When you all sit down for breakfast try adding something small to her plate of bread like a bowl of fruit or something. Good luck!
I would just give her the bread and a drink :). I give my kids toast and fruit for breakfast quite often. If you really want to get something else down her, you could tell her to eat half a banana and drink so she can have her bread. Good luck!
Feed her the same kinds of food you give her for lunch and dinner. Breakfast doesn't have to be "breakfast" food. For example, I eat leftovers for breakfast several times a week, and I will often have a sandwich or a bowl of soup. I only make a real breakfast (pancakes, eggs, etc.) on the weekend.
Also, she may just be less hungry in the morning. I have always needed to be up and about for a few hours before I'm actually hungry, even as a child. My son is the same way.
I would try yogurt, fruits, pancake, bagel with cheese, or butter+jam on a french toast.
Hope you can find his favorite one!
At this age they can be so picky. I know they say they usually eat one meal great but the rest it can be hard to pin them down. That's how mine is. You say muffins but have you tried something like mini muffins (her size :)? My 2 yr old absolutely loves drinkable yogurts and frozen go-gurts. If she just likes bread maybe try blueberry bread or banana bread or something like that if you want her to get more from it. It is likely a phase that will just pass so I would just be patient as along as she is getting nutrients at other meals.
French Toast? Still has bread in it.
Egg Sandwich?
My friend makes this thing where she toasts bread in the toaster, then puts ham, sausage or bacon in the toast (cut in half) and sandwiches it. Then dunks it in egg mixture (egg and milk whisked) and browns it - then she dunks it again and cooks for a thicker coat of egg.
Why not just give her the bread? Plenty of people eat toast for breakfast. I agree with others to give her fruit or something with it, but as long as she is eating throughout the day, just bread for breakfast won't do any harm.
Give her the bread And something else like fruit or an egg. It's a phase and she will start eating more than the bread soon so it's best to keep her options wide open instead of narrowing them
