Breakfast for a Toddler

I'm looking for some advice from other moms about what you feed your toddlers for breakfast. My daughter is 16 months old, and I'm still feeding her baby oatmeal mixed with either yogurt or natural applesauce pretty much every morning. She's a great eater and can handle other breakfast foods, but I'm a working mom and love the fact that it only takes me about a minute to prepare the baby oatmeal. Any suggestions for what other quick, healthy breakfast items you're feeding your own kids that are fast and simple to prepare?

You can also add sunflower butter to oatmeal for some protein and fat as well if you are looking for some changes.

My daughter is a little older, but we pop waffles in the toaster or sometimes she'll eat 1/2 a bagle with cream cheese. Instant oatmeal and cold cereal are other possibilities. We sometimes have leftover pancakes from the weekend, too.

Ditto on all the advice before mine. My daughter is 18 months old and loves to feed herself whole wheat waffles w/ light butter, cut into squares w/a pizza cutter. I haven't tried jelly yet, but I will now that I read it. Mini pancakes, yogurt,bananas, peaches, pineapple sqaures, and we've moved up to the flavored Quacker oatmeal.

I started feeding my son regular instand oatmeal at that age. It's cheaper than the baby oatmeal and just as fast to prepare. Not long after that he was able to feed himself. I also gave him some sort of fruit in the morning. Usually cut up pieces of banana so he could feed himself, sometimes applesauce or apple chunks he could feed himself. Hope this helps!

Cheerios and any fruit (bananas are good; so are fruit cups like pears, peaches, etc.)

microwave pancakes - take two and spread a thin layer of jelly/jam in between to make a little 'sandwich'

toast with peanut butter and fruit

My daughter is 18 1/2 mos. & loves those "Sunny Days" organic cereal bars. She eats them everyday & their good for her. She also likes the organic drinkable yogurts which are great for on the go. Dried fruit is also good or fruit strips. Hope that helps!

My 14 month old loves bananas, mini pancakes, toast, mandarin oranges, canned peaches, Nutri-grain cereal bars, scrambled eggs, cereal and cheese. You name it, he eats it. He likes yogurt, but he likes to feed himself and it's just too messy right now, especially when I'm trying to get out of the house in the morning.
