We are celebrating both my (soon to be) 2 year old and 6 year old sons birthdays this weekend and am looking for some ideas for the party. any ideas on inexpensive goody bag ideas and/or themes that would fit both age groups?
I did a superhero theme for my son's 3rd. I got some capes at Oriental Trading company on line and some stick on foam letters and stars. We made each child a cape with their name during the party as the activity and they took them home as the favor. They loved them, and ran around and played after cake... fun and easy and relatively cheap : )
I love the super hero's idea. I was thinking sports since it is the start of football season.
for goody bags go with temporary tattoos, a cookie, stickers, spinning top, fruit snack bag(I am sure you could find one that matched your theme. I hate most goody bag toys, we call them vacuum toys since that is where most of them end up or wish they would go. love all the themes people mentioned. Love the pirate theme you could even do a scavenger hunt, for the little ones you could do a color or picture hunt to find treasures that will go in the goody bag.
When my son turned 5 I did a Race car theme (kind of Nascar).. got the "finish line" flag from Powerpoint to decorate the room and put cars in the goody bag, even the cupcakes were black & white and arrange as a finish flat! The utensils were also black & white. It was cheap and easy to find... Good luck!
You could do Circus, Zoo, Jungle, Beach or just water theme
ARRG! A pirate theme would be cool! Goody bags can include gold coins (chocolate or plastic) and eye patches for everyone. A treasure (scavenger) hunt can lead to the birthday cake or the pinata. Check out these link
