My son is turning 3 in October and I would like some input on where to throw a birthday party somewhere besides my home. We had his 2nd birthday at Gym Kids. Please let me know if you know of a great place.

Thanks!
M.

So What Happened?

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I've looked into everything and have decided to have the party at home. We have booked a train to come give train rides for an hour for entertainment. I'll probably save the Pump It Up idea for next year since some of his little friends will barely be two this year. Thanks again!!!

Try this site.

Bounce houses ( Pump it Up, Inflatible Insanity, Jump N Zone, etc. )for that age are a lot of fun and as much as I personally hate Chuck E Cheese, my daughter and all her friends love it!!

I had my son's last birthday at Pump it Up. They have rooms filled will all kinds of the bounce house type stuff. It is a private party so you and your guest are the only ones there. It was a blast and you can have pump it up do as little or as much of the party as you want. They have locations all around the DFW area. Their website is pumpitupparty.com. Also, unless you are dead set having it somewhere other than home, for my son's 3rd birthday we had his at home and had this party company come out with a train ride for the kids (my son loved Thomas the tank)and they loved it. We also had a woman one year that came and did a show with a live monkey and kids each got their picture taken with the monkey and we had a magician one year that pulled a bunny from his hat and the kids got to pet it.

Pump It Up is fun - been to several parties there

The Fort Worth Zoo has a good / fun party package that is very reasonably priced

When my son turned 3 we did Chuck E Cheese (real exciting, I know)

The Rain Forest Cafe is fun - a little pricey

Have you thought about keeping it low key and doing it at a local park? Make it a picnic / cupcake social? That way the kids can just run and burn energy and just have sack lunches for everyone...

A lot of water parks also have good packages for birthday parties... that include admission.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is a fun choice too but they may not "get it" at that age... I'm doing my son's 8th birthday there.

What have I done in the past... hmm..

1st - home
2nd - cookout at home
3rd - chuck e cheese
4th - cowgirl ranch in Westlake (SOOOO FUN!)
5th - dual party with next door neighbors at house - bounce house and slip n slides / cookout
6th - fort worth zoo
7th - Summit Climbing Gym in Grapevine

Hi M.,

we had my daughters 3rd Birthday last month in the "Texas Teddy Bear Factory" in Grapevine.
The kids loved it.
Depending on the budget you give them, the kids can make their own Teddybear/Animal.
We loved it and all the other parents said, that it was a great idea.

We attended a party recently at the Little Gym and everyone had a great time. It was a great mixture of organized games and free time. Another great birthday party we attended this year was at Let's Jump off of 377 in Keller. The kids had a blast on all the blow up houses and slides and half way through the party you switch in to another private room with new equipment. Both places had a room you could use to serve pizza, cake or whatever and staff to help!

I hope this helps and best of luck!

I know Chuck E Cheese is something that has been around for a long time but it is perfect for this age group...my daughter will be two next weekend and we are having it at chuck e cheese. I usually try not to do the same thing twice but all the kids including my nine year old loved it so much last year that we decided to have her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese again this year. The average package is 10.99 per child and that includeds 20 tokens for each child, 2 slices of pizza each, unlimited drinks, chuck e cheese performance where they throw ticktes out to the kids and 90 minutes of tables space. That is the one we did last year. This year we are doing the 15.99 a child and it includes 32 tokens a piece, 2 slices of pizza, unlimed drinks, a goodie bag for each kid, 100 tickets for each party guest, 500 tickets for the birthday child and a sovenier chuck e cheese cup, crown, and a bag of cotton candy for the birthday child...you can also buy more tokens to devide between each child...anyway its fun and they do everything and its not pricey!!

We went to a party earlier this year at the Explorit Zone in Vista Ridge Mall, and it was a lot of fun. I'm not sure how pricey it is, as we've just always had parties at home. But all the kids had a good time anyway!

I'm not sure where to go away from home, but I do parties with stuffing animals in your home. It's a great experience for the kids. If you're interested at all, check out my website at: http://www.noahsarkworkshop.com/kristinaowings1625
