Bouncy Seat

I need suggestions for a bouncy seat (or something similar) for my tall son. I have a Fisher Price one right now and I use it all the time (I put him in it next to me every few hours while I pump). But his feet are now dangling off the end and his head is almost to the top. I have searched at all the stores and they all seem to be about the same size. Does anybody else have this problem? Or even a suggestion for something else to put him in while I pump (other than a swing or exersaucer - which I already have)?

What can I do next?

have you tried a jumper or walker? my daughter out grew hers quickly too but not with height (she learned to climb out) so what i did was got a jumper. she loved the rainforest one but they have many other designs. or maybe try a bouncer that grows with your son. fisher price does make a rocker that he will be able to use until hes a toddler.

my son quickly outgrew his fisher price bouncy. however, we tried our friend's bjorn bouncy (more expensive but collapsible) and it did not even budge under his weight or height at 6 months (he was 90th percentile in both). if he's able to hold his head up well, i'd try the jumperoo. my son goes bonkers in his (he's now 2 weeks shy of 1 year and still tall). they have a cute new one that looks like a rocking horse.

I would recommend the Fischer Price infant/toddler rocker chair. My son is 4 months old and is also tall. I like that the chair can rock or chair. The toys are kind of in their face, but my son doesn't seem to mind. He also liked sitting more upright.

Fisher-Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker. First, it's an infant seat with a three-stage developmental system of toys designed to bring out baby's full potential in that first year. Then, as your child grows, you can use it as a toddler rocking chair (up to 40 pounds)! Calming vibrations and gentle rocking motion help comfort and soothe baby in the infant seat. There's a foldout kickstand for feeding or sleeping and a two-position recline seat for baby's comfort. For baby's enjoyment, you can link up detachable toys to three different spots, and pull on the cow for a song that your infant will love as she's sitting in the seat - and your toddler will enjoy in her fun rocker! The Infant-to-Toddler Rocker features a machine-washable pad for easy clean-up. Features: * Maximum weight of child: 40 lbs * Calming vibrations unit soothes your infant like a ride in the car * Three-point restraint holds baby securely in place * Fold-out kickstand for feeding or sleeping * Removable, machine-washable seat pad * Three different spots to link detachable toys * Pull on cow for a song * Push on piggy to hear rattle * Lamb spins * Two-position recline seat * Converts from infant seat to toddler rocking chair Developmental Guidelines: Use the upright position only when your child has developed enough upper body control to sit without leaning forward. Always use the restraint until your child is able to climb in and out of the chair unassisted.
# In the infant mode baby is soothed with calming vibrations or mom's gentle rocking of the seat
# As the child grows, the seatback adjusts to a more upright position for a toddler up to 40lbs
# The toy feature grows with baby by fullfilling the requirements of the Learning Patterns Infant Toy Line
# Fisher Price Babygear Bouncers & Infant Seats
# Age Range Birth to 3 Years

Have you tried the bumbo seat yet? Its not a bouncer, but for a 6 mos. old its perfect. (yes I know they were recalled, but it was because they did not have the red sticker on the back saying don't leave baby unattended on a high surface) They are now back on the shelves, and I love mine. It helps to get them to sit on their own, plus once they are older it helps keep them steady so they don't fall back and bonk their noggins. They also have a tray for the bumbo seat that I really like for my 6 mos. old. I can put toys on there for her to play with, and when she is a bit older I could put little snacks on there for her. There is also a prince lionhart seat very similar to the bumbo, but I personally had both and took back the Prince lionhart one. IT really did not feel as secure. There is no weight or height limit on the bumbo, and my 3 year old even occasionally sits in it to watch a show. Give it a try, at 6 mos. they love to sit up and see the world.

Have you tried the infant to toddler rocker/bouncer? They are at walmart for about $30. They are great, they have a bar that you pull forward to keep it from rocking if need be and if you tuck the bar under the can rock, it's like their own personal little chair. I use one all the time with my 8 month old. It's great. Comes with a toy bar like a bouncer too.

I think he's just getting to the age where he has outgrown the bouncy seat. Do you have an exersaucer for him? Those usually go over pretty good w/ the little ones. :-)
